Knowing the Creator

This past Sunday as Mike preached from Isaiah 43, he turned our eyes towards our Creator and then reminded the audience that many people, like the Akolets of Papua New Guinea, had no name for “God” until the missionaries came. The response of those precious people as they discover that their Creator has a message of love and hope for them is incredibly moving. (Read updates on the NTM web page: www.ntm.org)
It is our great privilege to present the needs of these dear people, and others like them, in colleges, churches, conferences–every venue the Lord opens for us. Our schedule for the next few months is filling up and we need your prayers. We need those who will give and encourage. Pray for prepared hearts and the Lord’s leading those of His choosing for involvement in reaching the most unreached.
The Creator of the Ends of the Earth

As we travel the Northwest we are often awed with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Over this week we are trecking back and forth to meetings, accumulating hundreds of miles. Our hearts have been prepared for another Missions conference in which we are privileged to be a part. We can never know just how God will move in hearts for eternity’s sake. Eternity’s sake! I think of the decisions that will be made; some to go…some to pray…to be a part of something so much greater than themselves.
And now as our travel-van hums along, I see the glint of the sunrays fade behind the purple hills and I remember the words in Isaiah, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. There is no searching of His understanding.” (Isaiah 40:28) Yet there are many in the far reaches of this world who would say, “We have not known. We have not heard.”
And because of His heart of compassion we go…that all the world may hear and know Him!
Another year in which to serve Him!

“For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.” Eccl. 5:20
What greater joy could there be than to share in what God is doing to draw men and women around the world to Himself!
We’ve already had some eventful days in the month of January. Through God’s enabling we:
- Participated in a short-term team orientation
- Met missionary guests coming and going at the airport
- Witnessed the dedication of NTM Aviation’s first Kodiak plane bound for Indonesia
- Entertained numerous dinner guests
- Met with students at George Fox Univ. in Newberg, OR
- Represented NTM at Mission Connexion NW in Vancouver, WA
- Spoke in Sunday services in Bonners Ferry, ID
- Attended the New-student Orientation at Moody Spokane (where Mike will again this spring teach the Christian Missions class of 40 students.)
Thank you for your ongoing prayers for us in this rigorous schedule.
