Connect and Pray

 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

Our Children

Posted by on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

Our children… are excelling in their home school program.

As parents, we are very proud of the appreciation they demonstrate for the cross of Christ. This month we set aside an hour as a family to celebrate the “Breaking of the Bread” and remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Equipping the Church

Posted by on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

This has been an exciting month for Mike in ministry with the invitation by two different rural church associations asking him to provide teaching and training for their outreach programs.

In both cases, the Guarani language has been the primary communication tool. Paraguayans are generally bilingual, speaking both Spanish and Guarani. This creates many complexities in evangelism and discipleship for the Paraguayans and thus the importance for practical equipping at the church level.

Who Do You Admire?

Posted by on Friday, July 27th, 2012

Today, I had the privilege of teaching , my children about Robert E. Lee. Did you know that he admired George Washington?

Father, Where Shall I Work Today?

Posted by on Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

As I was studying for my Proverbs 31 online Bible study (with Good Morning Girls), I was reading Beautiful in God’s Eyes: The Treasures of the Proverbs 31 Woman by Elizabeth George. {{Thanks to Dora – who gave me lots of great free books!}}

In chapter 20, she shared on Proverbs 31:27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. She had this poem at the end of the chapter that challenged me, so I’ve shared it with YOU!

Father, Where Shall I Work Today?

by Meade McGuire

Father, where shall I work today?
And my love flowed warm and free.
Then He pointed out a tiny spot
And said, “Tend that for Me.”

I answered quickly, “Oh no; not that!
Why, no one would ever see,
No matter how well my work was done;
Not that little place for me.”

And the word He spoke, it was not stern;
He answered me tenderly:
“Ah, little one, search that heart of thine.
Art thou working for them or for Me?
Nazareth was a little place,
And so was Galilee.”
