Pie graph

This is now a bit outdated - just an idea

Why is your recommended support level so high (usually between 5K – 6K/month)?  We do get this question every once and a while as the initial amount seems quite high so we’d like to explain. . .

Roundup!

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in News Article on May 16th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

RoundupJust this last weekend we were able to be a small part of a roundup for shots, branding, etc. . . for a family from our church in Auberry. I got to help with the parasite/wormer medicine given to all the cattle. There were quite a few people helping, so the work was efficient and fast. We then had a great cookout after!

Ellie had fun watching the cows and later that evening she kept saying, “Cows got owies. Oh, noo!”  Even Mikayla cried when watching a couple struggle during the branding. What sympathy, what a couple of cuties :-)

Thank you Tom Connors for the invite and having a ranch where others can get together for good fellowship!  <>< ZP

On the road again
On the road again

We had the privilege of taking a trip with our family to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas this early May for about a week, primarily to visit friends and family as well as share with three churches about our ministry.

We flew into Oklahoma City, picked up a car and began our over 1200 mile loop.  We drove to Arkansas to visit some friends and share at their church, Branch Southern Baptist Church.  What a great group of believers!

Then we drove up to the New Tribes Mission training center in Missouri to visit friends and shared with the church we were a part of while living there, Communion Chapel Bible Church, over a Saturday breakfast. Great fellowship there!  Right after breakfast, we drove to Kansas.

In Kansas we had a great time seeing family and sharing with Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church (my grandparent’s sending church when they were missionaries to Congo, years before). Thank you all for your hospitality. We enjoyed seeing and visiting with you!

The girls did great traveling and enjoyed getting to meet many new and see some familiar faces. Thank you all for a great trip.

April Snow

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in Family, News Article, Prayer Request on Apr 14th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

April snowWell, this last week was a bit cold as you can see in the picture taken in our front yard. (We were going around in shorts, shirts and flip flops the week before).

Well, sometimes life can be this way with the unexpected taking a curve-ball at us, but, be encouraged “where there’s a shadow, there’s a light”.  Jesus is our source of strength and a constant in tribulations. Praise the Lord!

Please pray for us as we continue to work on raising our girls in a Christ honoring way and as we continue to “potty train” Ellie (it’s going a bit slow as she is a bit young . . . :-)

Leaving a Christ Centered Legacy

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in News Article on Apr 13th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

This past weekend I was able to attend a memorial service for my very first pastor, Reverend Bob Parker. There was one main key point I wanted to pass on as we remembered this friend and the life that he lived for the Lord. As the title states, I wanted to pose the question, are we living and leaving a Christ centered legacy behind? Are we living in such a way that will point others to the Lord after we are gone, by the way we are remembered?

This was a good challenge for me as I was able to evaluate my life and how I am setting an example for my family and those around.  “I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God.  For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness. . .” (Isaiah 61:10a).

Let us stand up for Jesus and live in such a way that will point others to the one true God!

Mensbfast
We have been blessed to plug into our newest supporting church family, Campus Bible Church of Fresno, CA, this last month. We have enjoyed meeting singles and families that have a desire to reach others with the Gospel of Christ there.
Sharing in Sunday school, a Seniors luncheon and a men’s breakfast have been exciting and a great way to feel more a part of this church body. Thank you Campus for your part in reaching the unreached!

Passports and more. . .

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in Ministry, News Article on Mar 18th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

The last couple of weeks have found us compiling a 102 page document that we excitedly mailed Wednesday the 17th to our Personnel department in Indonesia. This included applications for language school and other information for obtaining our student and work visas. Now we just wait until we get a pre approval then it is off to our local Indonesian consulate to get our actual visas. It is a bit of a process for this country but we’re marching through the work! Praise the Lord, one more step closer!

Week of 3/4/2011 Update

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in Ministry, News Article on Mar 4th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

Mikayla with stuffyHello, just wanted to say the family is doing well and the girls are enjoying the warmer weather, after a quick freezing drop last week.

Here is what’s going on in our life: We got immunizations this last week for Indonesia. Still waiting to receive our passports so we can continue on with visas and immigration. More Speaking Opportunities! – we have been given the opportunity to share several times with different groups this month at Campus Bible Church. We look forward to meeting individuals and families there and hope to be an inspiration and encouragement while we try to connect on a more personal level there. We also hope and pray that the Lord would call some to partner with us through praying regularly for and with us and also some that would support us financially in the ministry as we prepare to go take the Gospel to those not yet reached with it.

“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”  I Corinthians 15:58  <>< ZP

Moving Forward. . .

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in News Article on Mar 4th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

shotsWell, we just received the bulk of our immunizations for traveling to Indonesia. Thank you Tom Booth for your help and advice!

We are now one step closer and continue to enjoy the opportunities to share with others about missions. Also we have been working on our immigration paperwork, which is a bit more than the average country. Pray that this will go smoothly and that it will be accepted on the Indonesian front as well as approved by our local Consulate.   <>< ZP

The Death of our Minivan

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in Family, News Article on Feb 13th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

Our vanOur family minivan finally died this last week due to heart failure. . . uh, transmission failure. With the high mileage and some growing engine trouble, we have been advised not to put another penny into the car.  When it broke down on me this last week, I just asked the Lord to provide what we needed. After only a couple of phone calls, we were blessed to have another vehicle offered for us to use until we leave in July. Praise Jesus for yet another need met in an awesome way!

Sharing at Auberry Community Church

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb in News Article on Feb 7th, 2011 | Comments Off |   Share

We had the opportunity to speak at ACC, which is the church Zach grew up in, for both services and the adult Sunday School. We had a great time, beginning with the “Missionary Card Presentation” and then with a sermon, as requested to do. The presentation was a great visual object lesson that almost 30 people helped with. The purpose of this demonstration is to give a picture of all the different types of ministries and how they relate to the preaching of the Gospel in a tribe. It also illustrated how each believer has a place in the “Great Commission”. Jesus called us to be his disciples and as his disciples we are “fishers of men [and women]” (Mt 4:19) – All called wherever we are to reach out to the lost. Some stay and some go, but all are to reach out! don’t just become “pewgrass” in church :-)
