April Snow

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb on Thursday, April 14th, 2011

April snowWell, this last week was a bit cold as you can see in the picture taken in our front yard. (We were going around in shorts, shirts and flip flops the week before).

Well, sometimes life can be this way with the unexpected taking a curve-ball at us, but, be encouraged “where there’s a shadow, there’s a light”.  Jesus is our source of strength and a constant in tribulations. Praise the Lord!

Please pray for us as we continue to work on raising our girls in a Christ honoring way and as we continue to “potty train” Ellie (it’s going a bit slow as she is a bit young . . . :-)

Good bye “Country Truck”, Hello “Family Van”

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb on Monday, May 17th, 2010

Well, we did it, we traded our truck that a dear friend gave us for a van. We sure enjoyed the truck, however with a baby that barely fit in the back seat it was time to go “family friendly”.  We thought we would wait until we came home to CA this summer then look for a car or van as we would have to get something that would hold the next size up in a car seat for Ellie (as the truck wouldn’t unless we put her in ght front seat). Any way, we have been praying about it and several weeks ago, a former NTM’er asked if we were interested in a van as he was looking for a truck. . . Well, long story short, we ended up trading the vehicles. He had put an external transmission cooler, air shocks and a hitch – all for towing, which is great because we will need a small trailer to get our belongings back to CA this summer. – Thank you Lord for providing.

Please pray that we will find a good trailer soon too! <>< ZP

New_Guinea_TopographyAs our time of training at the New Tribes Missionary Training Center comes near its close, we have been more carefully considering where we might serve and in what capacity. Over the past few years we have wanted to serve in Papua New Guinea and more recently we have felt led more to the Western half of the Island, which is Papua, Indonesia (same island and people, different customs and government as well as national language).  (Approximately where the O is on the map; the right side being PNG and the left being Papua, Indo.) Please Pray!

Posted by Zachary and Sara Prieb on Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Our pastor, Vernon Meyers (87), from the church we have been attending here in Missouri just passed on to be with our Lord this last week (2/16). We recently hired another pastor to fill in when Vernon wasn’t doing well and he will now be stepping in full time. Vernon is survived by his wife and children. We also have two other friends that have passed away in the last 10 days. Please pray for their family and friends during this time. They were all believers and are now at their true home.

Skippy the TroutSo. . . this is me talking with my pet Skippy the Trout. . . With a mouth full of worms (gummy worms).  We are giving a short skit to a game of worm bobbing from pie tins with brownie mix in them.  We are still having a good time with the students that come and we are also having more come to the Campaigners, about 15, which is where we have more discipleship time with them and get deeper into God’s Word.

Please continue to pray for the unbelievers that come here to hang out, that their hearts will be receptive to God’s message to them.  Also, numbers are down from last year with out much idea as to why. . . Ask the Lord to allow us to impact more teens in the area for His glory.

We are excited to find out that our baby is still healthy and we only have about 14 weeks left to wait (and for our freedom ;-)

Please continue to pray that Sara and the baby will continue to be as healthy as possible.
