Our 1st primer!
We just finished our Literacy class! This was the next step from our Phonetics and Phonemics class in that we learned how we would create a literacy program. Everyone begins somewhere, and New Tribes has found that the syllabic method of teaching just about any other language other than English is the best method. Our primer was only eight pages as one typically runs from 25-30 pages. This gave us practice on how to set up a method of teaching someone (or a class) that hasn’t ever written or read before how to read and write. It sure is quite a process. Here are a few lines in Melanesian Pidgin that we wrote that use the syllables we used in the first few pages.
