Good Years

Share your plans with the LORD, and you will succeed. Solomon

When I look back to the few years that we had, I would never have believed that I would be where I am, doing what I am doing, planning different projects even if someone would have told me so…

What Makes a Good Sunday Morning?

Posted by Yvon and Elisabeth Romeus on Sunday, July 22nd, 2012

I believe that in public worship we should do well to be bound by no human rules, and constrained by no stereotyped order. Charles Spurgeon

Last Sunday, we were attending a church for presenting our ministry. By now, we have been in many different churches, sometimes attending for just a Sunday and few times for quite a while.

There’s something about being able to unite with people from other churches, regardless of the culture or country the people worshiping are from, which is only possible through the faith we share in Christ.

The Greatest Love You’ll Ever Know (Part 4)

I fear God never showed mercy to one so vile as I. David Brainerd

Have you ever been shown mercy?

We find ourselves again in an area where the love of God is magnified to the greatest. Because God loved us He lavished upon us His mercy. He withholds what we as sinners deserve. God has not dealt with us according to our sins.

What does it take to be a learner?

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. Benjamin Franklin

Even though we are now done with our training, one of the lessons we learned during classes is that we will be continuous learners. Of course this seems obvious for most people, but I guess it is a good reminder for us as we just finished “studying” for the past years. It is easy to fall into the habit to think that we have arrived and do not have knowledge to acquire no more. One thing is certain: God is not done with us and He is continually teaching us like a father.

Who are you following?

Without Christ, not one step; with Him, anywhere! David Livingstone

Jesus said, “Follow me”. A lot could be said about following Jesus… And generally, what we emphasized is the meaning of the verb follow. But it is good to remind ourselves of the privilege to follow the person of Jesus.

The Greatest Love You’ll Ever Know (Part 3)

By the cross we know the gravity of sin and the greatness of God’s love toward us. John Chrysostom

Is there a limit to what love is willing to give?

God again present us with the most outstanding demonstration of love. God amazes us with His love. God did not gave just a little of what He had, He didn’t just give something common or of no value to Him, and He didn’t gave under compulsion somehow force to do so.

The only way the corporate Body of Christ will fulfill the mission Christ has given it is for individual Christians to have a vision for fulfilling that mission personally. David Jeremiah

How many people does it take to reach a tribe who has never heard of Jesus?

Am I Fit Enough to Face a Trial?

Posted by Yvon and Elisabeth Romeus on Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

Trials are purposeful. Trials are tests for the purpose of growth in godliness. Trials are divinely design not to test whether our faith is genuine but for the purpose of purifying the faith that is genuine […]. Trials exist to refine and purify the faith that already exists. C.J. Mahaney

Would it not be just easier if we could become mature instantaneously? Obtain godliness without having to go through trials and difficulties of life?

Sometimes, my thoughts wonder about those kinds of questions. Yet, I need to be reminder that God has a purpose to allow me to endure those trials. And I need to remember that God is wise in his choices and that those circumstances bring me closer to Him.

The road to freedom is via the cross. Albert John Mvumbi Luthuli

Would you be willing to die for someone?

When we think about dying for someone, we might consider a kind person, you know, someone who treat us nicely. And so, if there was a need to die for a friend we would like to be willing to do so. Even more, if it was a family member, the question will probably not arise.

Can You Help Me, please?

Posted by Yvon and Elisabeth Romeus on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. Helen Keller

Is it easy to receive help?

We had two weeks to construct a house, well essentially around nine days. This house was made for the most part of thick plastic and wooden pole. We had to plan to live in it for four weeks. So, we designed a simple house, in other to have a short building time.
