Idaho welcomes the Meissners!
We have arrived in the land of cold. This morning we warmed up the car to get the frost of the windows. But the houses are toasty!
We have been here less than two weeks and have had so many fun experiences. Turin has gotten to know his family on the Meissner side better. Torre has spent time with his brother rafting…in February, yes it’s cold.

Aunt Cass reading to Turin and cousin Raylee.

Torre joins his brother Chad for a chilly birthday rafting trip.
On Sunday we will share what God is doing with our church here in Paul Idaho. We’re excited to connect again with our friends and family in the Lord.
And update on the baby…she is in a breached position, meaning her head is up and bum is down. The doctor here wants to try to turn her around. It sounds painful. There is a 50% chance this will work. There is a very low chance that it will put the baby under stress and we will have to have an emergency c-section right there. This appointment is scheduled for Wednesday 7:30am. Please pray.

Thanks to all of you who pray for us. God has protected us on this journey. He knows our hearts and fears concerning the pregnancy. He goes before us.
Happy New Year
What a fun Christmas. Cora arrived safely with no hassle. We spent a fun week together.

Sisters
Turin celebrated his second birthday December 24th. He has down how to unwrap gifts. It was neat to see him carefully unwrap a gift and play with it for a while before asking to open another. When asked how old he is he’ll respond with “two”. But two is the ONLY number he knows right now. Thankfully it matches with his age.

- Turin turns 2!!
Christmas Eve was spent in the traditional Mexican manner…We were invited by friends to celebrate Christ’s birth by joining them for dinner at midnight on Christmas Eve. We were honored to be invited to this special family celebration. Needless to say our bodies aren’t used to going to bed at 3am so Christmas day was spent recovering
.
The rest of the week we relaxed as well as went around the city to see sights and eat good food. It was a very sad day when she left and we came home to a quieter house. However, I am grateful that God provided that time together.
Now the fun begins! We’ve started settling the spare room to become Little M’s room. We’ve sorted, given away, and gone through all our stuff that we’ve managed to accumulate. January 5th means the beginning of another six weeks of teaching for me and more Spanish for Torre. Soon we’ll be greeting Little M into our lives (name to be decided).
Thanks to all of your for your continued prayers during this special holiday season as well as continued prayers for the pregnancy and time as a family.

Christmas 2009
Merry Christmas from the Meissners and a blessed 2010.
It’s Christmas time!
Well in a little over 24 hours my sister will be here! Nothing motivates me more to clean all those dark places in the house like having guests come and stay. Even though my sister could care less how dusted her accomidations are. We’re excited to have her for an entire week.
While she is here, Cora will celebrate Turin’s second birthday with us! We are parents of a two year old and another on the way. Last night I was thinking, “This time next year I’ll have a nine month old…and a three year old.” So why are there times when I still feel like I’m the kid?
Today started the first day of Christmas break for me from teaching and Torre from studying. As I write this Torre is busy at work making a foot locker for his clothes. Yes, he’s going to have to give up his spare room closet for the Little M. But combine my creativity (yep, yep) with his wood skills, and I think we created a good compromise for his need to not fold clothing and my need for orginazation. We’ll post pictures of the finished product. Once Christmas is past and wardrobe empty of Torre’s things I’ll start the fun process of filling it with needed items for Little M.
Thanks for your prayers for the pregnancy, still going well! Turin has remained healthy as well as Torre. We have so much to thank our Lord for. But the most exciting part is that we get to celebrate this exciting holiday as beleivers of our Savior. This holiday marks the beginning of the most exciting story of all times, the birth of our Savior.
Merry Christmas from the Meissners.
Thanksgiving
Up until last year I have spent Thanksgiving in Michigan, where, my dad cooks the bird and family brings the trimmings. This year we thought we’d bring Michigan to us! We had some friends visiting for the week and helped US cook the bird and friends bring the trimmings. We really do have so much to be thankful for. At one point during the dinner we talked about three things we were thankful for. Me…I’m thankful that I’m a mom. I’m glad God is using this area of my life to teach me sanctification, my how imperfect I am. I am also thankful that we live here. Wow, to be in one place for over a year. And third, that I get to teach this year. It is like a dream come true. Torre was thankful for his wonderful wife
and for Turin. He was also thankful to be living where we do and ministering where God has us.
Looking ahead…we have another visitor, my sister, coming for Christmas. Next week will be our grade school Christmas play and the following week is Christmas break. Please be in prayer for safe travels for my sister, but also for all those who will be traveling over Christmas break. Please be praying for the Christmas play, that all would go well and that God would be glorified.
The holiday season is so special. We celebrate the birth of our Savior. Yet there are some who still do not know about Him.
Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving at the Meissners
It’s a girl!
If you counted pregnancy by months, a woman would be pregnant ten months. So it is usually counted by weeks. However, weeks is often hard for some to wrap their minds around (Torre…). So as an update:
I’m roughly six months pregnant OR 25 weeks along. We found out a few weeks ago that we will be having a GIRL! We’re very excited for this blessing. Thanks to those who have been praying. So far we are all very healthy.

Five months down!
So I just completed week 20 with this pregnancy. Or as Torre likes to say, “month five.” Just wanted to send an updated picture and thank you all for praying for me and this little one. Lord willing we will find out Thursday, November 20th what we are having!
We are so very thankful for our doctor here. We continue to pray for a our health as we had into the cold season here. And by cold I mean it’s cold outside and inside.
From the Meissners,
Narah

Snow in Mexico!!!
You read that right. We had SNOW today.
Let me tell you, it was God’s gift to us. With the holidays coming up, the sun going down at 6pm, and just plain ol’ tiredness setting in, one can’t help feeling a big down. I was feeling just like that yesterday. Talking with God and once again giving life to Him. When the snow came down today I couldn’t help but get choked up. I felt as if it was God’s gift to his child here. “Narah, I am still with you, I love you and I will always take care of you.”
So here are some pictures of God’s gift to His children, the Meissners’, here in Mexico.

The last time Turin saw snow he was two months old. Now he'll be two in December.

Don't worry, this was taken before Papa knew where the gloves and hat were stored.

From the front door

DoriNachos anyone?
We can purchace a lot of things without even leaving the front yard! On a regular basis we can get large jugs of water, gas tanks for the house, bread, tortillas, empanadas, DoriNachos and corn in a cup with cream (both yummy junk food), and on occasion a man will come by to sharpen kitchen knives.
