“Torre, for our anniversary this year, I want to hike up the mountain.” When my brother-in-law heard how we were celebrating he stated, “What, are you trying to kill her?” The plan was to drink coffee together when we got to the top, as a tribute to our very informal first date. We were about ¾ of the way up and I wanted to just stop there and have coffee. But Torre was ahead of me and I was short of breath. I’m sure it would have come out, “Stop. Coffee.” which wouldn’t have made any sense and would have taken more words to explain than I had breath for. But we made it, to the top, together.

Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011Idaho welcomes the Meissners!
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Friday, February 26th, 2010We have arrived in the land of cold. This morning we warmed up the car to get the frost of the windows. But the houses are toasty!
We have been here less than two weeks and have had so many fun experiences. Turin has gotten to know his family on the Meissner side better. Torre has spent time with his brother rafting…in February, yes it’s cold.

Aunt Cass reading to Turin and cousin Raylee.

Torre joins his brother Chad for a chilly birthday rafting trip.
On Sunday we will share what God is doing with our church here in Paul Idaho. We’re excited to connect again with our friends and family in the Lord.
And update on the baby…she is in a breached position, meaning her head is up and bum is down. The doctor here wants to try to turn her around. It sounds painful. There is a 50% chance this will work. There is a very low chance that it will put the baby under stress and we will have to have an emergency c-section right there. This appointment is scheduled for Wednesday 7:30am. Please pray.

Thanks to all of you who pray for us. God has protected us on this journey. He knows our hearts and fears concerning the pregnancy. He goes before us.
It’s a girl!
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Friday, December 4th, 2009If you counted pregnancy by months, a woman would be pregnant ten months. So it is usually counted by weeks. However, weeks is often hard for some to wrap their minds around (Torre…). So as an update:
I’m roughly six months pregnant OR 25 weeks along. We found out a few weeks ago that we will be having a GIRL! We’re very excited for this blessing. Thanks to those who have been praying. So far we are all very healthy.

Five months down!
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Thursday, October 29th, 2009So I just completed week 20 with this pregnancy. Or as Torre likes to say, “month five.” Just wanted to send an updated picture and thank you all for praying for me and this little one. Lord willing we will find out Thursday, November 20th what we are having!
We are so very thankful for our doctor here. We continue to pray for a our health as we had into the cold season here. And by cold I mean it’s cold outside and inside.
From the Meissners,

Snow in Mexico!!!
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Thursday, October 29th, 2009You read that right. We had SNOW today.
Let me tell you, it was God’s gift to us. With the holidays coming up, the sun going down at 6pm, and just plain ol’ tiredness setting in, one can’t help feeling a big down. I was feeling just like that yesterday. Talking with God and once again giving life to Him. When the snow came down today I couldn’t help but get choked up. I felt as if it was God’s gift to his child here. “Narah, I am still with you, I love you and I will always take care of you.”
So here are some pictures of God’s gift to His children, the Meissners’, here in Mexico.

The last time Turin saw snow he was two months old. Now he'll be two in December.

Don't worry, this was taken before Papa knew where the gloves and hat were stored.

DoriNachos anyone?
We can purchace a lot of things without even leaving the front yard! On a regular basis we can get large jugs of water, gas tanks for the house, bread, tortillas, empanadas, DoriNachos and corn in a cup with cream (both yummy junk food), and on occasion a man will come by to sharpen kitchen knives.
Turin update
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009Turin has changed so much in the year we’ve been here. First of all, he’s officially lived in Mexico longer than in the States. Here are a few fast facts on our changing boy who only a year ago couldn’t crawl and was eating all his food pureed…
He’s signing about six “words”….He uses a few actual words including: hat, Sit (that’s what he calls our dog), Mama (for both Mom and Dad), book, Hi, Hola, cracker, and galleta…well maybe for the last one it comes out “Lala”….He answers any question asked to him with complete udderences. ie: “Turin what are you doing?” “Ummm Grapshoud hsudldjahd shdud.” “What are you going to do after that?” “Uhhh dkdksj sjdkdfjj sksls.” Our friend Jay is convinced that when he does start talking it will be in complete sentences. I’m not sure if we’re ready for that….He plays with dad all morning and wants mom all afternoon….He can show you his muscles and blink his eyes when told “Haz ojitos (little eyes)”….He plays well with kids three and up. Kids his own age make him nervous….And yes, he can feed himself using a fork and spoon.
He’s a weird one, but we’ll keep him.
We are now “bloggers”…whatever that is.
Posted by Torre and Narah Meissner on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009I resisted the blogging wave, telling people it was just “one more thing” to update. Our NTM website was an example of how much I disliked updating. But NTM came to me! They have changed the website update to the blog style. I’m hoping this will encourage more updates on our family and our ministry as a blog seems more like an open conversation, but only time will tell. So welcome to our webpage, or is it a blog?
