Kodiak Dedication

Posted by Tom and Danielle Brendle in Ministry on Apr 20th, 2010 | Comments Off |   Share

We had a wonderful day yesterday (Monday April 20th) at the dedication of the New NTM Kodiak Aircraft. Tom had the privelage of setting up and running the sound and video for this event. Levi was wishing for a flight back to Siawi, Josiah and Danielle enjoyed the literature and Luke and Jacob were looking for places to stow away. We are all thankful that this aircraft will soon be available to assist NTM church planting in Indonesia and can immagine someday a Kodiak like this one will be available for church planting in Papua New Guinea.

Tiuli and Noah Home from the Hospital!

Your Prayers make a difference for Noah!

Linda Writes:
What a joy, to see Tiuli and Noah in the church meeting, this morning!  No, they weren’t sitting together.  While changes are slowly coming, culturally, men and women do not sit together.  Men sit on one side and the women on the other.

When Noah stood up, during testimony time, how I wished you could have been there! One of the things that impressed him most about his caring for Tiuli, out at the hospital, was the letter Tom Brendle wrote him, telling him that folks everywhere were praying for them.  All through the USA and other places, too, people were praying for Noah and Tiuli.

For Tiuli, there is a lot of physical healing ahead, but she continues to do well. She is able to get around on her own, with a cane, and continues to be free from any major infections.

For Noah, there are signs of spiritual awakening.  Friday afternoon, Noah came to me, with his Pidgin Bible in his hands and a huge smile on his face.  He had been reading in Jeremiah, while out at the hospital; and he had a question about one of the passages.  This from a young man who had little interest in spiritual things, before.  Please continue to pray for these two young people, that the Lord will use this experience to awaken their hearts to His love and grace.

Rejoicing in the Lord’s goodness and grace,

Linda Krieg

Another Good Report for Tiuli

Posted by Tom and Danielle Brendle in Ministry, Prayer Request on Feb 1st, 2010 | Comments Off |   Share

Thank you for your continued prayers for Tiuli.  She is still in the critical care ward but closer to the back door.   The Dr. wanted to move her out to another ward but she has been allowed to remain where she is in a bed with curtains around it.  We are all very thankful for the care that she is receiving.   She has begun to feed herself and sit up and some of the large bandaging around her head has been removed.  The Dr. would like her to start walking around some and she can’t quite do that yet.    Praise the Lord that she is gaining strength and pray that she will have the will to start walking which will be a painful process for her but necessary for her recovery.   Noah also continues to be an incredible blessing to his sister.

Noah is a Blessing

Tiuli Hospital

Tiuli continues to recover in the hospital,    Swansons write:

Noah,  has been a complete blessing.  Tiuli is totally incapable of doing anything for herself.  Shannon went to give her a banana and then recognized that she must be hand fed every bite or drink of water she sips.  Noah has been standing by her side holding the bed pan for her and scratching places on her body that itch.  Even a small desire to move over on her side requires much help from Noah.  And yet, through the many times we’ve seen him and heard her ask for him to perform countless deeds… he has been extremely kind.  He hasn’t raised his voice or refused to do anything she’s asked.  Quite a testimony to the prayers of you all and our great God.

Please keep praying for Noah.   Yesterday, while we were talking he said to me.  “Yes, it was hard to see the pig do that to her.  I said to myself.  ‘ Will she be able to walk around anymore?  Will I ever go along with her to jungle again?  Or will God let this be her last day?   Help her not to die yet, God.”  Yes, it does appear that God is working in Noah’s life.  He , like any other big brother, has a heart for his sister.  Pray that God would use this situation in the heart of Noah to draw him nearer to God Himself.

Thank you all so much for praying for Tiuli and Noah.  Their hearts are encouraged in knowing that many people in many places are praying for them.  Please continue to pray for healing.  The doctor voiced today that his biggest concern was that Tiuli not develop a bad infection.  She is also very anemic.  She has been given some blood and will receive some more soon.  Please continue to pray for their parents and the other Siawis who are close to Tiuli.  Pray that the Siawi believers wouldn’t buy into the lies satan has held them in bondage with for years.  Many people might say that pig was really a dead ancestor repaying the village for something they had done wrong.  Pray that they wouldn’t listen to wisdom of this world.  Pray that they would stand strong on God’s word and look to Him and Him alone.

Our First PFO

This past week has been the highlight of our ministry with the Associate program thus far. We were able to help to orientate 7 people who will be going to Papua New Guinea as associate missionaries.

Please be praying for Shirley, Murray and Paula, Drew and Bobbi, Stephanie, and Layne. We met with them for 5 days from 7:30 in the morning until 7:30 or later each night. They were given information on topics ranging from the purpose and core values of New Tribes Mission and culture transitions to communicating with your support team. Danielle and I had the opportunity of praying with them each morning. The highlight for me was hearing their testimonies of how God led each of them to the point of serving in missions. I had the opportunity to speak on planting churches in remote areas. These along with many other topics were covered and discussed as they prepare to transition from the US to their field of ministry. As you can imagine they are still probably trying to digest all that information.

Please be praying for them as they now seek to raise support and prepare to go to their field of service.
