Here is some encouraging news.
As we went through our training we saw lots of people cut their training short because of various reasons.
Although many people did not make it to the foreign mission field, we have seen lots of missionaries graduate from the training that we ourselves did. These missionaries have raised there financial support, and with prayer and encouragment they have gone out overseas with their families to serve the Lord. Every month we hear of our good friends leaving the USA pursuing careers reaching unreached tribal men women and children. We praise God for them.
On another note: Tim was in church the other day when a man asked if he could pray for him. He mentioned how great we are for going overseas and that we have a special calling. God is great and we cherish the following verse and feel as though we are ordinary people putting our trust Him.
Matthew 28:19- Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”.
We believe that when Christ said,”Go make disciples of all nations”we should do just that. We need pastors and missionaries very badly in the USA. We also need them drastically overseas. Its hard to ascertain where the most need is in regards to missions. What grabbed our hearts is the number of people groups still without access to a bible. 193 million people represent approximately 2500 people groups that still have no translation of scripture. www.wycliffe.org/AssetLibrary/Downloads/(0)2007%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf
When we read the facts, we feel the urge to go where there is no translated scripture. We desire to reach people who have not heard of Christ’s love because they cannot read the scriptures.
We know people who are teachers, nurses, construction workers, electricians, book keepers, pilots, mechanics, etc, that are missionaries. You see, their job is to do the important administrative work that keep tribal missionaries in the tribe, teaching them the bible. We love teamwork and these missionaries are so vital to the team.
Our standpoint: Get involved. Go, give or commit your time to praying for or encouraging those that choose to go.
The world is wide open and the harvest great.
