Building a Team

As we are building a support team we need your prayer in the following areas:

Relationships - that God would give us many opportunities to build relationships with people as we serve in our churches.

Speaking - as we travel and speak to churches and small groups we desire to share what God is doing around the world in tribal missions as well as our vision.

Enroute to Papua New Guinea!

Posted by tim_lanier in Ministry on Mar 5th, 2008 | Discuss This Post |   Share

We began training with New Tribes Mission in the fall of 2003, only one month after our wedding. Why? Because we knew that all around the world there are thousands of people groups in some of the most remote and isolated areas of the world where the gospel has not reached.

Noah holding Micah

Well, classes have started again and things have taken off at full speed. Tim is enjoying his linguistics studies and has already been exposed to some amazing and mind boggling things that language can do. I am at home full time, which has been wonderful and exhausting all at once.

Micah Andrew

He is finally here! Tiffany went into the hospital to be induced on the 28th and after a smooth labor and delivery our little guy was born at 12:09am on June 29th. He weighed 8lbs 5oz and was 20 ¾ inches long. He has been a sweet and delightful little boy. Noah loves having a little brother and takes every opportunity he can find to give him lots of hugs and kisses. We thank the Lord for a healthy baby and delivery! Thank you for all your prayers for us through Tiffany’s pregnancy.

Update on Tiffany

Posted by tim_lanier in Family on Feb 8th, 2007 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Well, I want to start off by thanking all of you who have been praying for Tim and I during these last few months. These have definitely been times of great weakness, but God’s grace is truly sufficient! Since our last update, my sickness has greatly improved. I am now able to get up and go to class, although that often wipes me out for the rest of the day. We had a very restful Christmas break and it was something we all needed. I still spent most of it on the couch not feeling well, but it was better than it had been.

Sickness and Travel

Posted by tim_lanier in Prayer Request on Dec 14th, 2006 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Please continue to pray for Tiffany as she is showing occasional signs of improvement but is still not very mobile. We will be traveling on December 17th and 19th as we head home for Christmas and so we are praying she will be able to do that without being too miserable.

We made it

Posted by tim_lanier in Family, Ministry on Dec 14th, 2006 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Six weeks ago when we started our language practicum we never dreamed that it would turn out the way it did. I had aspirations of giving our language study everything I had. I had dreams of being able to impress our instructors (ha ha) with our ability and progress in a fairly difficult language. However, those were not God’s dreams. He had a very different road planned for us with the news of Tiffany’s pregnancy and the onset of her sickness. It was one that would involve humility, exhaustion, and an exercise in faith. Her sickness is not over yet but the hurdle of school for the semester has been crossed.

Completing the Course

Posted by tim_lanier in Family on Nov 29th, 2006 | Discuss This Post |   Share

We were talking with our instructor tonight and we are getting very close to questioning whether we are going to be able to complete our Live Language Practicum —especially Tiffany. There are other alternatives for Tiffany later if she does not complete it but she has already put so much work into it that we would love to see her be able to finish.
Please pray that God would see fit to bring Tiffany’s health to a place where she can meet the requirements for this course and that I would be able to put in the needed time to finish.
Please pray also for Noah. The little guy has had it very rough since mommy has been too sick to play with him and daddy is always gone or busy. He is very lonely while he is not in child care with his friends and we are not able to be there for him as much as normal.

God has been so gracious to us during this time. Our instructors and the staff have been so flexible and gracious to us as we are having to make adjustments in our Practicum. Several of our friends have come take Noah to play giving me time to get things done and him time to have some fun. Another huge blessing has been some fellow students who have set a meal schedule for us through the end the of the Practicum. God has been gracious to us in so many ways.

I was shocked…

Posted by tim_lanier in Family on Nov 29th, 2006 | Discuss This Post |   Share

I was shocked! It took me a moment before I realized that she just got a popsicle out of the freezer! That seems strange, huh? Well, let me explain.

As some of you know we learned recently that we are going to have another little addition to our family as of the end of June. We are very excited about this news. Tiffany, however, gets very sick when she is pregnant and so that has been the case the last five weeks. She has had the ‘all day’ version of morning sickness and usually can hardly get off the couch. Over Thanksgiving break she appeared to be feeling a little better (basically wasn’t fighting the urge to lose her lunch constantly) and then came down with the flu. She has had it pretty rough!

One down…five more to go

Posted by tim_lanier in Family on Nov 12th, 2006 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Our first week of learning Polish is under our belt…but we are just getting started! We have five more weeks left in our language practicum and so far we are encouraged. Well, at least I am. Tiffany has had it a bit rough with morning (more like all day) sickness putting a damper on her enjoyment in and even ability to participate. We thank the Lord for a wonderful language helper (the lady who is teaching us Polish). She is fun to work with as well as very patient with us as her job of saying things over and over for us has got to get boring! Pray with us for her salvation – she and her husband are not saved. We are praying that God would use us in some to bring her and her husband to Himself. The academic side of these six weeks is to put into practice the principles of language learning that we have been taught so far. But we desire that God would to do far more than that. We so desire (becuase we know God desires) to see our language helper and her husband accept the gift that God offers them. Please Pray with us for their salvation!
