His Grace Shines

Reflecting on God’s faithfulness this past year, praising Him for growing my (Brandy) faith and deepening my love for the unreached tribes of Papua New Guinea who are in darkness.

It was as quick as a finger flipping the light switch off.  I was in a luminous room full of hope and laughter then in an instant it became horridly dark leaving me with feelings of hopelessness, fear and despair.  When we are faithless, He remains faithful for He cannot deny ...

Bible Dedication in Dom

Posted by:

We had the amazing privilege on August 26th to attend our first Bible dedication.  If you remember our first term here when we were finishing our language study we chose to do a bush orientation.  To live out in a tribal location for 6 weeks.  We spent our orientation in Dom!  When we heard that this tribe would be celebrating the dedication of the bible we just had to go!  We wanted to celebrate with our friends who welcomed us ...

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

You may not have read about it in the paper, or heard about it on the evening news, but history was made recently. The first-ever Iski literacy class just graduated its first students! That’s right, for the first time in HUMAN HISTORY, a mixed group of Iski men, women, and children were able to stand up in front of a crowd of people and read stories that they had written themselves IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE!

The significance of this special day ...

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The other day, we had a bit of a shindig in our village, celebrating the graduation of our first Iski literacy class. It was a fun time. The people did mini-dramas depicting different Iski historical moments, they had singing groups perform songs they had written especially for the occasion, there were speeches, there was food, and there were lots of visitors. Like I said, it was a really fun time…well, mostly fun. The visitors kind of put a damper on ...

View from our kitchen window in Dinangat.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

John 15:4

The Dinangat Church

A few weeks ago we heard the sad news that several believers from the second Dinangat church in T. listened to the lies of a visiting man and got baptized again with the hope that this time they would „truly“ receive the Holy ...

DOM

I had the great privilege of attending the Dom Bible Dedication this past Friday.  This dedication culminates 40 years of hard work with the Dom Tribe in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.  A number of visitors from the US, Canada and the UK came for the dedication.

Colin Lamb began the work in the Dom tribe when he settled here in 1975 with his family.  He has since retired and moved back to the UK.  His son, Martin, who ...

Ellen

We recently received an audio recording from a Simbari believer named Ellen. She was full of emotion as she shared these words which we just finished translating from Simbari into English.

My name is Ellen and I’m going to share my testimony with you. Very good. When I was young and my mother and father were caring for me I wondered how we had come into existence. I went along wondering and I began to understand when I was older and ...

On This Rock

I know what this picture looks like. Just a guy standing on a big rock. NBD.

But the guy on this rock is actually a HUGE deal. Colossal. Monumental. BIG. FAT. DEAL.

This is Fawa. He is one of the believers in our village. He’s a young married man with a beautiful baby girl who just started toddling around.

His father (now deceased) was an influential witch doctor. When Fawa was a young boy his father told him to never go near this ...
