busy work

What an interesting couple of months it has been! I can’t even believe it’s been that long since I blogged, because it has been so busy that time has seriously just flown by!

Let me try and summarize:

August

sunflowerIt seems like we all had medevac on the brain; there was something like 1 a week during August. Each medevac is different and requires its own debriefings (departmental and leadership). Our processes have to be continually evaluated and revised. Josh was doing a ...

july highlights

How can it be August already? Howww?? Time is moving way too fast right now.

I thought that summer would be slow and boring, but boy, was I wrong. It has been so busy and so full that I’m not sure I can even remember everything we’ve done! I just know that there hasn’t been much time for rest, or blogging.

tribal trip

Last week I mentioned that I was heading into a tribal location to help our medical staff run a vaccine clinic, but due to some inclement weather on both ends, it was delayed until the next day.

Since we knew that the weather in this location can get real bad real fast, we opted for a dawn departure to make sure we got in before the weather turned sour. This means leaving our center at 5am, driving ...

Commissioned and Ready to GO

prestons commissioning edit

After much preparation and prayer, we are on our way! It has been a crazy week with much packing and meetings with friends. Our heart is to “leave well”. This means we’ve been taking every opportunity to say good bye and strengthen relationships as we head out. In addition, we packed everything we own and shipped it ahead of us. AND we sold our first house!

To finalize a busy week, we had the amazing opportunity to have a commissioning service ...

Contentment

It’s been an emotional couple of weeks in our household. If you’ve followed our newsletters, you’ll remember hearing of how the Lord worked to sell our house in only 3 days on the market. The next month was a whirlwind! So many things that need to be orchestrated, completed, moved, and finished. The flood of emotions that come with good byes. Saying good bye to our friends, family and neighbors. The single most emotional moment was pulling out of our ...

We have a moving day!

Dear Friends,

We have exciting news: We officially have a contract for the sale of our home! This is a legally binding contract with our seller, so as long as nothing catastrophic happens, we will be moving on May 2nd. We are praising God for this answer to prayer. The next 9 weeks are going to be a whirlwind!

Selling the house begs the question: where are we moving *to*? The answer to that is that as of today we don’t know. ...

It takes a village to reach a village

Our prayer jar

Our prayer jar

About two years ago, a friend of ours told us, “It takes a village to reach a village.” How true we have found this to be! We are part of a “village” based in the USA who serves the international teams and the organization as a whole. And behind each of us is a “village” of partners committed to supporting us with prayer and finances. Together with the church planters we are all working as the body of ...

ready for flight

Posted by:

So last week I asked you to pray about the upcoming audit on the flight program here in PNG; the one that would determine if and when the Kodiak could start flying and serving the missionaries and people of Papua New Guinea. We can now praise the Lord together that it is now finished!

The aviation authorities arrived on Thursday to begin the three-day in depth look at the manuals, procedures, and program here in PNG. Amazingly, it went so well ...

grocery shopping, lessons in hoarding

Cooking can be a stressful thing in any country and culture. However, there usually helps or shortcuts to make it just a titch easier. There are packets, powders, cans, and pre-sliced everything. If you run out of something or decide at the last minute you want something else, you can pop into any store or gas station and get it with relative ease. And how about those days when you don’t want to cook, or are craving something different? You ...

Beautiful Feet

We kicked off the fall by making some great connections as we continue working on developing our ministry partnership team. We had the chance to speak at a mission conference in Waterman, IL. This was our first mission conference – and hopefully not the last! We greatly enjoyed the 3 days of sharing, teaching, and relationship building. We loved to meet the people at Waterman Bible Church who gave us a warm welcome. We were privileged to team up with the ...
