speechless by languages

God’s amazing wisdom and power can be seen in every area of life. Look at vastness of the universe with its stars and planets! Or the tiny perfection of a molecule. Or the intricacies of the human body.

Speechless by languages

In the same way, we have the privilege of observing God’s intelligence and design in the world’s languages. Each one is so unique but perfectly logical and following its own patterns. Even the exceptions in languages are predictable! That’s our God.

Here’s a quick look at the current plans for 2017:

Welcome to our blog!! We are the Deals- Shad, Sarah, Braden, and Brice. A Multitude of Hands

Posted by:

We were recently reading a book, which was explaining how to construct a simple plastic auditorium chair.  It takes hundreds of people with combined knowledge and allied skills.  No one person can do it all.

It brought to mind missions – cross cultural discipleship – it requires a team, and the purpose of missions is far grander than that of a chair.  The ultimate purpose of missions is to bring joy to all nations, tongues and tribes so the adoration and ...

The Gift of Reading

Posted by:

Though it occurred about 17 years ago my memory of it is very clear. I (Jeff) had just finished teaching a lesson in the village. We were about a month into the foundational evangelism teaching at Malaumanda. Yagitasa (a widowed mother probably in her late 30’s at that time and a regular attendee to the teaching) called me over to where she was sitting with her sister. She said, “Jeff, we were talking last night and we can remember what ...

Does It Matter?

Posted by:

searchOur NTM focus this month is Literacy.  As I have spent time contemplating this topic, certain questions have come to mind.

Questions like:

Why is it important for a person to be able to read and write?

Why can’t we just give someone the gospel orally and be good with that?  Isn’t that the quickest way to reach more people?

Does Literacy Matter?  Really matter?

If we mentioned providing Literacy in America we would be in complete agreement – people need to know how to read ...

“The greatest missionary is the Bible in the mother tongue. It needs no furlough and is never considered a foreigner.” William Cameron Townsend

YembiYembi tribe has a new testament in their language now. We are all called to be a part of making disciples of all nations, near and far. Our place, our role is changing. What’s your role? ...

“ILLITERATE??? Dial 1-800-READ”

Posted by:

illiterate-write-for-help

We all take for granted our ability to read and just how deeply entrenched we are with it.  Breakfast wouldn’t be breakfast if I couldn’t read the calorie content or the number of grams of trans fat contained in my cereal or eggs. It seems we all are driven by attaining knowledge of such things these days although I am inconsistent in tracking my daily intake of dietary proportions. I smile and go on about my business, with little thought or ...
