Welcome to our blog!! We are the Deals- Shad, Sarah, Braden, and Brice. It is our privilege to serve the next generation of missionaries during their time at the NTM Missionary Training Center in Roach, Missouri. Light of the World

Posted by:

God in his mercy and grace created the world in view of redeeming it.

And God said, “Let there be light ,” and there was light.  (Genesis 1:3)

light-of-the-world

“I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

He – who created light (John 1:1-3), descended  from heaven, was born of a virgin, rejected, crucified and resurrected – is the Light of the world.  He is the very radiance ...

A Multitude of Hands

Posted by:

fbg

We were recently reading a book, which was explaining how to construct a simple plastic auditorium chair.  It takes hundreds of people with combined knowledge and allied skills.  No one person can do it all.

It brought to mind missions – cross cultural discipleship – it requires a team, and the purpose of missions is far grander than that of a chair.  The ultimate purpose of missions is to bring joy to all nations, tongues and tribes so the adoration and ...

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The other day, we had a bit of a shindig in our village, celebrating the graduation of our first Iski literacy class. It was a fun time. The people did mini-dramas depicting different Iski historical moments, they had singing groups perform songs they had written especially for the occasion, there were speeches, there was food, and there were lots of visitors. Like I said, it was a really fun time…well, mostly fun. The visitors kind of put a damper on ...

God School

Posted by:

My eight year old niece, whom mchild studyingy family frequently refers to as “Little Lizzie”, is having a difficult time understanding why I have to move so far away from her. Last week I was trying to explain to her the necessity of missions and why I am leaving. Thinking that I am preparing to return to school, she asked, “But when are you going to be done with God school?” As I chuckled the Lord began working in my own ...

God Provides!

As I opened the truck of my car thoughts raced through my mind, “where is it? I just had it an hour ago!”. I frantically searched every corner of my car. In the front seat I found the power cord, but no computer. “Why didn’t I save my ministry presentation on another device? Lord, I don’t know how I will be able to re-create it.”   It was a week before I was scheduled to present my ministry with NTM before my church family, ...

Why a long term strategy for church planting?

Posted by:

Some reasons that excellence can take a long time.

MOZ_Mwinika__129

When we consider the urgency of the task of world evangelism, some may wonder why we would choose a church planting strategy that takes upwards of 20 years. Can’t we accomplish it faster? Isn’t there a more efficient way? Here are some of the reasons that we think a long term strategy is best.
To Communicate Clearly

Even in our own culture, clear communication is no easy task. When we step out of our world and ...

the countdown is on!

meetingOur Florida Trip: It wasn’t that long ago when we were counting down the days to our trip to Florida and now it’s over. Thank you for praying. We took part in two workshops which gave us more tools to use to be a help and encouragement to others. After leaving Florida we went to Greenville, SC for a brief visit with friends/supporters. From there we traveled to Nashville to visit Lance’s brother and his family. When we crossed the ...

Discipleship: The “why” behind the “what”

Posted by:

“Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

As our family works on building our financial support team, this verse is important to us. Our heart is to be a part of making disciples around the world, using the skills the Lord has given us. As we focus far away, however, we are constantly reminded ...
