The school year ended with a lot of fun activities for the kids and it was a little sad for us to see the year end and know that the boys won’t be back in the fall. We’ve really enjoyed the teachers that the boys have had at Cascades and the boys have made some great friendships. It’s hard now that we feel like we’re getting to know some of the parents that we have to leave.
Anyways, the last couple of days the boys had nature walks to Cascades Park and were able to get ice cream and spend the afternoon playing on the playground. It was a really hot week so they were all playing in the cool sand. It’s amazing how many kids you can fit into that tiny sandpit.
I went to their classrooms on the last day so that I could take pictures of them with their class and their teachers. It was kind of emotional to walk to the van with them knowing that they won’t be back with everyone in the fall. The boys don’t really have a concept of how truly long they’ll be gone and how things will be different when they come home again.
