The tickets are purchased, we’re getting ready to build the crates, our calendar is filling up…things are getting crazy. Less than two months to go!
There isn’t too much time left before we hit the road. We were able to talk over the computer today with the team that will be guiding us through our first year of orientation on the field. We’re excited and overwhelmed at the same time. They have some really great ideas about how to develop strong bonds and relationships with the people around us, but in the process it will mean giving up our privacy, our desires and the way we’re used to things being done. We’re sure that the first few months will be difficult and overwhelming, but we’re glad to have such a great support team standing behind us wanting us to be successful missionaries.
We’ve been working hard to get our things packed up. A lot more goes into that than just simply putting things in a box. Everything has to be inventoried very specifically and there are lots of specifications on the shipping. It’s taking quite a while to get it all done. Next weekend we’ll build the crates and get everything ready to be shipped for it’s long voyage.
We’re speaking at a new church this weekend and it’s going to be pretty busy, but we look forward to the chance to meet some new people and the opportunity to share our vision for reaching people in Guinea with the Gospel.
