About
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Mark 5:13 14
He said to them; “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15
…and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation Romans 15:20
Our ministry and purpose for serving in Papua New Guinea is to be a direct support to those who are working hard to ensure that every “tribe and tongue” has a chance not just to hear, but to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their own language. We want to do whatever we can to allow those planting churches and discipling new believers to keep their time, energy and focus on the task at hand. For Amy, serving as a nurse, that’s taking care of any routine or emergent medical needs. For Ryan, that’s building and maintaining their homes and fixing generators and boat motors. You see, in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, conveniences like safe, accessible health care and mechanics and contractors are not available.
God has given us and gifted us with certain skill sets and particular knowledge. We want to use that to further the gospel in places where it has never been before in history. With 318 unreached people groups, Papua New Guinea is one of those places. Our triumphs will be the triumphs of tribal church planters and translators as they push back darkness and give people a chance to see the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
Each of us can play a part in touching the lives of the unreached. Let’s join together, each doing the part God has assigned to us without abandon. Each part of the body fulfills its God given function whether it be by praying, giving, or going. If each with a burden prays, and each with the ability gives, and each one called goes; then together we can reach the every last tribe and tongue with the good news. Each of us has a part to play. Let’s do so with the grace, wisdom, and strength of our God, running the race as though to win the prize of every last village being reached with the gospel.
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:15-16
