Alaska, Land of the Midnight Sun

Sharon and I in the snow!!! It gets COLD here in Alaska!!!

Wow, what a whirlwind. Thank-you for those who have been praying for jetlag recovery… we sure need it. It’s 1:30 in the morning and we’re wide awake. The sun here never sets!

If you haven’t noticed the picture on the left yet, that’s us by a snow bank. I think our bodies are in total shock at this point, but being in snow and climbing a mountain called Flat Top in Anchorage was a crazy welcome to Alaska. Well, since Alaska is a weird place to be I thought I’d explain a bit about what we’re doing here. Sharon and I came here last year to work at a Salmon catching/ processing company called R & J Seafoods. See their website here>>.

Our ultimate purpose in coming here, of course, is to make money so we can finish our training with New Tribes next fall. Unfortunately that all depends on the fish because Ric gets paid a percentage of the catch and Sharon gets paid to process them. Keep you eye on our website throughout this summer for pictures, insights into what life is like here, and our upcoming Cambodia jounals.
