Family and friends gathered at Grace Church in Jackson on Saturday, May 19 to celebrate what our 51 graduates have accomplished over the past two years. About 400 attended the 73rd commencement service for New Tribes Bible Institute Jackson. It was quite the honor to be able to welcome the visitors and recognize the family members who have sacrificed so much so that our students have the opportunity to study the Word of God full time. After reviewing some NTM history, I introduced the class and faculty speakers. Later in the service, it was so exciting to be able to hand each graduate their folder, shake their hand and wish them well. Many are going to continue with the NTM training and Lord willing within a few years they will be on the mission field, studying a tribal language and preparing to teach an unreached people group through the Bible chronologically, trusting the Lord to establish a new church.
What a privilege to be involved in training and preparing hungry hearted believers to take the Gospel to those who have no hope unless someone gets trained and goes. We thank God for the team of prayer and financial partners who sacrifice time and invest with us in the lives of future missionaries. If you are one of them, you know how much we praise God for you. If you would like to join our team, we would rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory! There is room for you. “>)
Would you please pray for more students for our fall class? We have room for 25-30 more than the 60 or so that have applied. There is still a great need for more church planters. Over 2,000 people groups still waiting to hear of Jesus and what He has done for mankind. Thank you so much for your time and your prayers.
Blessings in Christ!

A few of our great grads!
Rex and Shirley Schaffner @ NTBI Training future missionaries at New Tribes Bible Institute

A number of our recent graduates have arrived on the field in the past several weeks. I love to skype with them during chapel from time to time. It really encourages our students and staff to hear from them directly and hear how they are settling in, what challenges they are finding and how they are seeing the Lord in their midst. The couple shown above will be leaving for Asia in the next 3 weeks. PTL!

After many years of preparation, the missionary team in North Wahgi in Papua New Guinea is ready to begin teaching the Bible in the language of the people for the very first time. Excitement is building as Monday draws closer. The Hulleys and Wilsons will begin in Genesis and chronologically layout the truth of the Scripture in a way that has never before been done among the people. They will lay a firm foundation from the Old Testament prior to teaching about the life of Christ, His death, burial and His resurrection. Lord willing in 3 months or so, a church will be born in North Wahgi land. Please be praying for the team as they teach, for good health and good discernment about what the people are understanding. Please pray that the Wahgi people believe what they hear and many trust in Christ when they hear the Gospel.
Thousands of miles west of PNG in Guinea, West Africa, the Baga Fore people are about two thirds through the chronological teaching. In just a few weeks, Gene Bacon and the team will get to present the Gospel message. Already we have heard of a “new life” among the Baga Fore. Praise God that one has already entered in the realm of light! May God grant that many more will have their eyes open and they will see Jesus for who He really is; the One and only Savior of the world. Please pray that God will be greatly glorified in what happens among the Baga Fore.

Utterly amazed, incredibly humbled, thrilled to the heart…a sense of joy causes our spirits to lift up praise and thanksgiving to our God. He has sustained us and much more these past 30 semesters…15 years now at New Tribes Bible Institute. We look back and can hardly believe it. And yet…here they come; another NTBI freshman class and dozens of returning students. Hallelujah! Lord willing we’ll see 66-70 new faces and about 75 returning, all with the goal of studying God’s Word full time for 4 semesters. Lord only knows where these guys will end up, but we hope and pray that many will join in the work of taking the Gospel to a people group without it at this time. We would appreciate your prayers as classes begin Wednesday August 24. This is the first semester I will have an opportunity to kick things off at Orientation Monday morning.
