80 new believers!

Posted by Regina Sullivan in Ministry on Oct 27th, 2010 | Discuss This Post |   Share

For seven weeks, people came from more than 20 hamlets so they could hear eight Moi Bible teachers and missionary Rich Brown present the Creator’s Talk.
Rich wrote, “Though [the 8 Moi believers'] average age is only about 18 years old, they have proven themselves as not only capable teachers, but faithful men of God. They constantly are praying for humility and that God might speak through them for His glory.”

And God did work!  80 Moi people placed their faith in Jesus.  This video shows a few of their testimonies.

Haiti Trip – Please Pray!

Posted by Regina Sullivan in Ministry on Aug 9th, 2010 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Our team of eight from Circle Church is headed off to Haiti. We really appreciate your prayers for this journey to an orphanage in Léogåne – the epicenter of the earthquake, just outside Port-a-Prince. We have not been able to contact Haiti over the past month, and were just able to get through tonight to confirm our airport pickup. They had assumed we were not coming since we couldn’t get through, and now they are arranging transportation. This will be quite a trip! We are excited to see what God will do.

42 kids are at this orphanage run by a French couple. Their building was destroyed, and they have been living in tents and temporary wood buildings. We will be helping with the children and possibly doing some construction.

Thank you for praying for us! Pray for safety, health, and that we can be effective servants of Christ and bring hope and encouragement to the people we are with.

May Praise & Prayer

Posted by Regina Sullivan in Ministry on May 13th, 2010 | Discuss This Post |   Share

May you experience God’s abundant, strengthening grace and have peace in your hearts through all of life’s situations!  The last couple months have been really good, with God gently pointing my focus to Christ, showing me things I need to let go of, and cling to Him.

Praise:

  • A lot of neat moments happened at the radio event in Nashville. (see blog for more)
  • God was at work in the little things at the April woman’s retreat (see blog for more)
  • We are progressing with the radio stories project – less than 30 to complete to finish our goal!

Thank-you for praying!

Prayer:

  • Pray that God will give me mighty inner strength through the Holy Spirit, that Christ will be at home in my heart, and that my roots would grow down deep into God’s love, in understanding and experience.
  • Pray that more radio stations will pick up our daily program.
  • Pray for prepared hearts for the Mwinka tribe in Africa, who will hear God’s Word for the first time in their language this year.

If you picture yourself sharing for a group of people, nerves probably play a big part in that picture.  They do for me! But I’m thankful for God who strengthened me through the body of Christ.

God is the Only Answer

Aaron talking with a friend.

Aaron talking with a friend.

A fight between two Patpatar clans in Papua New Guinea that began on New Year’s Day continues to spread, and one believer says the only real answer to ending the fight is the message that changed his life.

“I want to say a thank you to God,” the believer recently told missionary Aaron Luse. “If I hadn’t heard the teaching of God’s Word from the beginning, and if the true Good News wasn’t clear to me, I would have gone inside this fight that is happening.”

Quick Praise:Festival ~ Prayer: Philippines Trip

Posted by Regina Sullivan in Ministry on Feb 19th, 2010 | Discuss This Post |   Share

Praise: 168 Hour Film Festival: Amazing!

I’ve been sleeping at the producer’s house all week, and helping out on the shoot (mainly assistant editor and 2nd AC, i.e. camera log).  We’ve prayed and worked through so many problems, that we’ve called it “Plow Thru Productions”!   Praise for this opportunity and all that I’ve learned.   For DAY 1-6 details, see my blog. =)

Prayer: Trip to the Philippines

I have an opportunity to go the the Philippines at the end of the year to shoot video interviews with missionaries and tribal people, co-ordinating with my cousin’s wedding.   Please pray that plans will be settled soon, and that I’ll be able to find low cost tickets.
