…winter refreshment
It has been such a blessing to be involved with my home church once again. This past weekend I went on a retreat with the women of the church.
The Ladies Retreat proved to be a wonderful opportunity to get to know some of the women from church. I really enjoyed the fellowship and the refreshment from the Lord.
I so appreciate the Body of Christ at my home church. They are a wonderful group of people who have such a heart for what the Lord is doing around the World. They are such an encouragement to me always!
Going to the Chapel and We’re…
In case you haven’t heard, I’m getting married! Gabriel and I met in Pennsylvania in the third year of New Tribes Mission training. We got to know each other over the next two years and began dating in Missouri, at the fourth year of NTM training.
We are planning on getting married in May 2007! Once we are married, we will live in Wisconsin until we depart for Brazil in Dec 07/Jan 08.
So Much to be Thankful For!
Due to a few recent circumstances, I have been unable to work very often at my part-time job. The checking account was getting a little low, and I was getting a little worried as I thought about traveling for the next two weeks and again not working.
It was looking like I was going to have to dip a bit into the saving account. I have been saving for a new car and felt discouraged about having to take away from that.
I was sharing this with a good friend, feeling a little stressed. They encouraged me to not dip into my savings and instead just trust the Lord to provide. My response was a half hearted, "yeah, we’ll see what happens". In the back of my mind I didn’t really expect anything to happen.
Well, something did! The next day, someone had given me a check for the exact amount that I was going to take out of my saving account! I started crying. I was in awe of God and His faithfulness.
That’s not the end! That same day, I got an email from someone letting me know his family was going to begin to support me monthly’; a call from someone interested in supporting me; and an anonymous donation to my NTM account! That just doesn’t happen everyday!
God completely shattered my fears in one day! It’s not all about the money, but God used the money to show me that He’s got my back, He’s got my front, He’s got me in His hand. I am praising God for His faithfulness!
"Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds." -Psalm 36:5
Traveling…
At the end of November I will be doing a bit of traveling. First stop, Tennessee. This summer I had an opportunity to share at a church there and will be visiting there again.
Next Stop, sunny Florida. My time there will be split between visiting different people and spending some time down at New Tribes Mission Head Quarters. I’m excited to see the HQ and meet some of the people I’ve talked on the phone with so many times!
Last stop, Minnesota. There I will be visiting two of my best friends who I haven’t seen in a while. I’m looking forward to some sweet fellowship.
I would appreciate your prayer for safety in traveling these next two weeks.
Praise the Lord!
This time of "Partnership Development" has been a really neat time for me. I’m praising the Lord for the time of transition from training/schooling to full-time ministry.
I am so thankful to be back home and to be able to get plugged back into my home church again. I am praising the Lord for the Body of Christ there!
The Lord always provides,
but not always in ways we expect
About a month ago I was in a small car accident. Thankfully, the damage was mostly cosmetic and so far does not need to be repaired. The insurance company covered the cost of all damages, which is actually more than my car could ever be sold for. I am praising the Lord for providing in this unusual way and for reminding me once again that He is faithful.
