NTM - New Tribes Mission | Planting Tribal Churches

A week or three ago I was able to visit another tribe with pilot Geerten who flies for AMA. The airplane is a Cessna 208 Caravan and it was the first time I rode in one. The tribe we visited already has an established church and pastor. We dropped off some folks that were flown out for medical treatment and also rice and other supplies.

This past weekend we went down to the coast for another checkup on the pregnancy. The doctor said Mio and the baby are doing great and it looks like May 29th is the due date. We also were able to find out that we will be getting a little girl again!

We plan to go to the Island of Java for the delivery and are looking forward to Mio’s parents and brother joining us there.

A few weeks ago I left Indonesia and went to PNG to receive my work visa. This is the same visa we asked you to pray for last Christmas. This visa allows me legally work in Indonesia ( the visa I have had for the last 6 months was a social visa) We are happy the Lord provided it and looking forward to making good use of it this next year.

We were surprised to find out this past week Mio is expecting. We don’t have any details yet, as soon as we do we will pass them on. Nara is already practicing being a big help for mom!

Mio and Nara arrived in Papua this past weekend. It was almost 4 weeks since the last time I had seen them and I am thankful the trip went well and they are finally here. Our house is almost complete and we are getting settled this week. Finally we will be in the same house for at least the next year, which Mio is looking forward to.

Last week I finally made it to Papua. I came a bit earlier than planned to help finish our house and also get settled before Mio and Nara arrive on the 31st of this month.

Our belongings are on the way to Jakarta now to be put on a boat and shipped to Papua. This morning we booked out tickets to head over to Papua in a few weeks as well. It’s getting exciting knowing we’ll be leaving soon. .

It’s almost time to move again. We are sending our things ahead by boat rather than bringing them on the airplane this time. Our stuff should arrive in 3-4 weeks, we hope.

While studying language, we are also encouraged to study culture. We learn not only how people do things, but why as well. This particular excursion was watching how to wash clothes the traditional way; by hand.

Nara and Javan celebrated their 1 year birthdays last week. They both enjoyed eating their cakes and all the people who came to see them. It’s been a fast year since Nara was born, she’s alot of fun!
