This fall we have had many firsts for our family. Firsts can be both exciting and a bit scary.
Most of our firsts revolve around our first born, Leighanna. She has entered first grade where she has a desk for the first time instead of a table. Eating lunch everyday and having three recesses every day are also firsts. Soccer is her first sport.
Last year Leighanna attended Awana as a Sparky, and this year we decided to let Emily go with her for the first time. She is in Cubbies. Since our church does not have a program for kids outside of Sunday morning we send them to Jackson Chrisian school where Cascades Baptist Church runs the Awana program. Not only will Emily be learning God’s Word, but also get more familar with people and places that will be part of her kindergarten experience next year.
Something else that is a first for our family is being in a house at the beginning of a semester where we have no previous relationships with student couples - all “our couples” graduated in the spring. Getting to know new students is proving to be extra hard. Please be in prayer that we would find the time that would be best for us and find a few couples in order to invest in their lives.

Nathan and Rachel Allen “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
