Goals for 2009

Mike’s 2009 Goals

• Mike will continue to read When Charity Destroys Dignity.

1. Challenge the national church to be involved in tribal church planting 

• Mike will speak in churches and other places as opportunities arise. 
• Mike will attend mission conferences and other Mobilization events when possible.
• Mike will provide oversight to the Paraguayan missionaries’ that are currently in training and the mobilization of their churches as well as communicate with the training centers where there are Paraguayans in training. 
• Mike will develop 3 modules for a 5 day missions’ event in January 2009.
• Mike will attend the 5 day missions’ event. He will teach 3 modules and represent NTM Paraguay.
• Mike will develop the program ACÉRCATE a las tribus and start monthly meetings in January 2009. 
• Mike will develop these modules in Spanish:
  1. Training: This module will include step-by-step information on New Tribes Mission training and will include information and videos from the training centers in Bolivia and Brazil. The Training module will be for those interested in training with NTM as well as for Pastors and Christian leaders to be informed as to what training with NTM involves.
  2. Partnership Development: This module will be a 3 level module for missionaries in Paraguay as well as those interested in going to NTM training. It will help them in building a support team and the how-to’s of making prayer cards, prayer letters, etc.
  3. Evangelism and Discipleship: This 12 hour module will be taught by Mike and another NTM missionary at a Bible Institute in September.
  4. Cross – cultural Missions: This module will be an in-depth study for those interested in cross-cultural missions.
•  Mike will assist Trisha in hosting people in their home for meals and fellowship. 
• Mike will assist a Canadian missionary from NTM in Mobilization activities when he comes to Paraguay in the middle of 2009. 
• Mike will attend the 4 day module Chronological Teaching in March 2009.
• Mike will continue to oversee the development of the Paraguayan Spanish version of Chronological teaching. 

2. Communications Department 

•  Mike will send out bi-monthly Mobilization Updates in English and Spanish. 
• Mike will update the MNT Paraguay Spanish Website bi-monthly. 
• Mike will be proactive in distributing MNT folders, DVDs, and brochures to promote tribal missions to churches, Christian organizations, Christian universities, and Christian schools.
• Mike will make an informative video for the missionaries’ enroute from the USA and for the Missionary Training Center’s Field Fair. 
• Mike will make short video clips in Spanish on: Literacy, Firm Foundations, Language and Culture Acquisition, Cross-Cultural missions, ACERCATE, and the Mature Church model.
• Mike will prepare a material campaign for a 5 day missions’ event in Cordoba, Argentina in 2010.

3. Short-term Missions trips 

• Mike will finish developing the ACÉRCATE manual. 
• Mike will take an ACÉRCATE ACHE trip with seven Latinos in January 2009.
• Mike will take an ACÉRCATE trip with key Christian leaders/pastors. 
• Mike will take an ACÉRCATE a los angaite with five to seven youth or adults.
• Mike will take an ACÉRCATE a los pai tavytera with five to seven youth or adults.
• Mike will look into the possibilities of taking an ACÉRCATE trip with some of the students from the Bible Institute.
• Mike will begin to look into possibilities for one to three ACÉRCATE trips in January 2010 (after the missions’ event in Cordoba, Argentina).

4. Strategic alliances throughout South America

• Mike will active in build relationships and interacting with other missions agencies as opportunities arise. 
• Mike or someone else from NTM Paraguay will travel to missionary training center in Brazil to represent NTM Paraguay in 2009. 
• Mike will continue to communicate with a Chilean missionary about going to Chile to do a Missions Conference and teach a module on tribal missions. 
• Mike will encourage the NTM Latin Mobilization coordinator to host another Mobilization Conference in the next year.

Trisha’s 2009 Goals

• Trisha will read Understanding Folk Religion.
• Trisha will attend church meetings with Mike whenever possible. 
• Trisha will attend the 5 day missions’ event in January 2009 and help Mike represent NTM Paraguay.
• Trisha will look into the possibilities to attend the module Chronological teaching in March 2009. 
• Trisha will plan and invite individuals over to their home for meals.
• Trisha will assist Mike by doing secretarial work. 
• Trisha will help Mike with the ACERCATE manual.
• Trisha will organize, rename, and tag the Mobilization pictures and video clips as time permits. 
• Trisha will assist Mike in developing the program ACERCATE a las tribus. 
• Trisha will assist Mike in developing the module Partnership Development. 
• Trisha will organize the Resource Center and make sure all the materials stocked and available. 
• Trisha will assist Mike with ACERCATE ACHE trip with seven Latinos in January 2009.
