Did you know that out of the 6912 known languages in the world today, only 438 have the entire bible in their language. There are another 1168 with only the New Testament and 848 with only portions of the scriptures. 1953 more have some bible translation currently in progress.
That means there are 2251 languages in the world without any scripture and no translation being done. Did you also know that there are over 500 translations of the Bible in English.
We are incredibly blessed to have the gospel available to us in so many ways. God has given me a passion to work with those that are so isolated that they have no access to the Bible and have never heard about God’s love or Christ’s work on the cross for our sins.
I am looking to serve in the IT field in Paupa New Guinea. My responsibility would be to keep the computers maintained of other missionaries who are serving in PNG.
Computers are vital to missionaries who are learning the language and culture of a people group. It’s much easier to file away and access language data on a computer than a large filing cabinet.
It could take hours to search through years worth of observations in a filing cabinet, but a simple keyword search on a computer would take only minutes! You can see how keeping computers working properly would be a hugely important ministry!
