Tina and Levi head to Eldon High for Hollywood Exposed presentation…
I had a great time speaking to high school students from Eldon, Versailles and other surrounding schools today. Levi had the chance to be at his 4th school presentation since birth 5 weeks ago. Luckily the girls love him ![]()

Tina spoke to Eldon and Versailles High School students at a media-awareness assembly
I have to say that these two packed crowds were VERY attentive but so serious. I know this message sometimes takes a couple days to sink in, but some teens spoke to me afterwards and shared how the message helped. So many of our young people are hurting in ways I never knew teens would even have to deal with. One young guy was sad that his father never seen him grow up. His dad is in prison in California and wants to meet him this Feb for the first time in MANY YEARS. I pray that somehow these teens will be challenged to live counter-culturally to what they are being bombarded with on a daily basis.
Thank you everyone for your prayers, financial support and most of all your LOVE and ENCOURAGEMENT! We love serving God through the ministry He’s given us.
~ Tina

Prayer Requests for our Friends…
We would love as much prayer as possible for some friends going through some difficult times right now. Weather you take a couple minutes or an hour to pray daily, please lift these people up in prayer.
Our friend Esther just had major sinus surgery today and is in need of prayer for quick healing and recovery. We also have very close friends who are going through some difficult times in their marriage. Please pray that God heals their marriage and this trying time results in a closer relationship than ever before. The last request is for our friends Steve and Cassie. Cassie’s 32 year old sister Carrie just died a week ago from a pulmonary embolism leaving behind a loving husband and young children.
We all need each other and I’m realizing prayer is SO NEEDED not just for our needs but for our dear friends and family. If you have a prayer request, please let me know and we will be praying for you as well as our ministry family.

The Edge
Shrieks of fear and terror rang out across the meadow as one after another, the girls got strapped onto the 60+ foot tall zip line and pushed over the edge of the tower. I worked yesterday at the christian camp down the road from our house that had several hundred girl scouts taking a teamwork/leadership course. Part of that course included a high ropes challenge course. I manned the bottom of the zip line which included getting them unhooked and down to the ground safely. It was a new way of ministry for me but God’s probably preparing me for a possible daughter someday.

It’s Official AND It’s Official…
Well its official! Our foreign field where we will be serving once we graduate in May will be

Griffins join staff @ MTC!
A) Cambodia
B) Africa
C) Anywhere far and scary
Actually, it’s Roach, Missouri! That name sounds like a mission field! We have formally been asked to join the Development and Mobilization team here on campus and enter into the amazing staff family here at MTC. This means that we are in our last semester of classes and our full-time ministry will start in a few short months. Luke has been getting involved in his ministry and
meeting with missionary candidates regarding the finances needed to get to the field and how to build a partnership team. I have some upcoming speaking engagements where the opportunity to share about foreign missions to our younger generation will be the main focus! Through this, God has continued to confirm in our hearts that this is where we need to be.
The OTHER official news is that we have Griffin bambino #2 due at the end of August! Keep us in prayer as Luke is cooking and cleaning a lot more often now that I have been having rather nasty morning (afternoon/night) sickness. Thank you for being a part of our team!
the Griffins adopt 16 teenagers………..for the night

MTC youth group that the Griffins love and adore
Bam, Bam, Bam!! I ran down the stairs and peeked through the curtain to see a half dozen teens shivering outside our door.
“Let the fun begin” I thought as they burst through the door and made themselves at home. Another dozen or so were hot
on their heels. We’re gonna have a FULL HOUSE tonight!
We had a blast hosting the MTC youth Bible study at our house a couple nights ago. The MTC staff and students’ teens played games, had praise and worship and studied the Bible together. These teens are hungry for truth and challenge US to pursue God as much as they do. What a privilege to be a part of their lives.
Griffin in the kitchen…watch out!!
Smoke rolled out when I opened the doors to the oven. No, nothing was on fire I was just searing a crust on the prime rib I was cooking for the staff appreciation party. The whole kitchen was filled with the smells of hot rolls, oven roasted new potatoes, and coffee brewing. It was getting down to crunch time as we prepared to plate food for 136 hungry missionary staff. This meal was the students way of showing our appreciation for all of the hard work and time that the staff here at MTC spend in making this training possible. Tina took a trip back in time to her high school and college days of waiting tables and I jumped back into restaurant mode from my days in the commercial kitchen. What a great opportunity to put our teamwork class to practice as we served those that normally serve us.

Griffins Survive Youth Retreat!!

Luke preparing last minute notes for youth retreat
Thirty-five teens laughed till they cried as Tina and Luke made complete fools of themselves on stage at this year’s MTC youth winter retreat. We were performing one of those skits where we couldn’t talk to each other but we had to figure out what the other person was doing. I guess the correct term is “improve.”
We were ecstatic when asked to be the guest speakers at Camp Mocomi for all the teenagers of the staff and students here at MTC. We had an awesome time getting to minister to these teens through Tina’s presentation on the lies of pop culture and Luke’s message on the truth of God’s Word. Many long lasting friendships were made over a short 48 hour period. Pray for us as we continue to minister and study here in MO.
