Time for some breathing room!
This past six months has been quite a whirlwind. I don’t know where the fall semester went. Things were EXTREMELY busy in our office last semester, and it was a challenge just to keep my head above water. Our spring semester is now firmly underway, and our office is going very smoothly so far.
Last semester, my younger brother (Nathan) came to NTBI as a freshman. It has been absolutely wonderful to have him around. He is so good to me, and it is such a joy to have family nearby again. He is living on campus, so it only takes him minutes to walk over to my apartment. He has been a great help with dog walking, car scraping, sidewalk shoveling, etc. He has settled in well and is really enjoying college life! It never ceases to amaze me how quickly he is growing up.
There are also some great things happening with our Education Department this semester. I now have another full-time lady working in our office, and in a mere three days I can already say it is amazing. Teresa is very experienced with many of the tasks and programs we use, and working her into our office has been a smooth process.
Now, you may be wondering why we’ve brought in another full-time person in my office. The answer brings me to one of the biggest changes. In a desire to facilitate my ability to raise the remainder of my support, NTBI is temporarily freeing me up from my duties in the office. This spring semester is one of transition, as I train Teresa in my duties so she can cover for me. Teresa and her husband are planning to head overseas, but have agreed to stay here until Summer of 2009. So, I have until then to get my support levels as close to 100% as I possibly can!
I’m already starting to see the benefits of having more help in the office. For example, I’m getting this website updated! It is so nice to finally have some breathing room in my schedule. I’ve fallen so far behind in what I’d like to do in communicating with all of you. Obviously, raising financial support and developing prayer support is nearly impossible on a schedule as insanely busy as mine was last semester.
I’m looking forward to starting these contacts and communications this semester, and once summer hits I will be able to devote myself to such things full time. Praise the Lord that the right help came along at the right time to allow this breathing room. Please contact me if your church/Bible study/etc. would be interested in having me come and speak or share my ministry. All of you who are reading this will be the heart of developing an effective support network. I look forward to communicating with you and perhaps being able to do so face to face in the coming year!
