Hey there. Yesterday I had the chance to participate in a mumu held for the Interface students in a village. I posted pictures on what a mumu is, and I will finish adding more soon. I hope you enjoy them. They day was spent peeling, hanging out, waiting ,and talking. I am slowly learning some Tok Pisin, and hopefully I will pick it up soon. It is so much fun to hang out with the nationals and learn more about their culture. Most of my time I spend in the cooking, cooking for groups so that they can go out and get hands on experience in missions. It is a blessing to serve them.

• My family has had a rough month health-wise, so I would appreciate prayers of provision and healing over them
• That God moves mightily at the missions conference and that the missionaries will be encouraged and empowered
• For sleep and rest before I fly out and to land on my feet running once I get to Papua New Guinea

December has flown by very quickly, however, I have had cherished times with loved ones. I enjoyed cooking up a storm this month for various events, since I don’t think I will be making many of the same dishes soon… I am excited to transition into cooking in a different context and be challenged with all sorts of exotic flavors and ingredients. I am also figuring out creative ways of taking a bit of Southern California Cuisine with me. I might just have to pack a tortilla press in one of my bags!
The Lord continues to amaze me through his provision over all the details. I got my visa in just at the right time to purchase my plane ticket and iron out all the final stages of leaving for the field. My Excitement builds with each day. I am sure that the first week of January with be a mad dash, and then I will be on the field. I get to go to a missions conference with Calvary Chapel, and then it is off to PNG on the 8th of January!

Well, I am back from my pre-field orientation with New Tribes Mission in Florida. It was such a good time to get to know the heart and core values of NTM. I was able to go a little early and visit with my family in Melbourne for a weekend, which was a real blessing.

The orientation covered many topics  community living to tribal church planting. NTM USA is located next to Lake Monroe, and provided a lovely area to walk and absorb all that I was learning. This week solidified my knowledge that NTM held the same values and goals in ministry that I did. I am encouraged in faith as I go out in partnership with them and you to serve in Papua New Guinea.

My work-permit papers have gone through, and I should be leaving in beginning of January! Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara, my sending church, is participating in an International Missions Conference in Murrieta California at the beginning of January. I will be attending with the missions team. I am eager to be a part of what Calvary is doing in world missions, and feel blessed to have this opportunity before I leave.

Thank you all for you prayers and support as I go through this process. I am currently working on partnership development, and God continues to amaze me with how he orchestrates my every step.

Many of you have asked what I’m up to. I want to share what God has laid upon my heart as I take a step out in faith. God has been growing a passion in me that He planted when I was young. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with missionaries in multiple countries and my passion for seeing God glorified in this work has grown immensely. I have been searching out the Lord’s guidance and step-by-step He has opened a door for me to spend a year serving in Papua New Guinea!

I will be serving as a support missionary with New Tribes Missions: my job will be cooking with the hospitality team at their Interface program. The purpose of Interface is to assist the ministry of the local church in mobilizing people for the task of tribal church planting among the world’s unreached people groups. Interface is a college level missions course, which exposes students directly to church planting among tribal people.

This is a real step of faith! Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara and Goleta Valley are my home churches that are partnering with me in this process. I trust the Lord completely to provide for this year of service. I know that none of this is possible without the body of Christ. Prayer and the encouragement of believers is essential in doing God’s work. I’d like to ask you to pray with me during this time. I would be blessed to pray for you as well. Please contact me and let me know how I could do that effectively.
