Comings and goings…

Family Timefamily picture

We have been enjoying a visit from Justin, Nicole and children since August 21st. They had several meetings on their way south and here in Florida. Please continue to pray for the support they lack so they can get to East Asia, next year, as He wills.

During our visit together, we enjoyed a lovely quiet two days at the beach thanks to some friends.  Then, other friends of ours from church heard that family was coming and arranged for us to go to Disney. The best part of that was watching the grand-kid’s reaction to everything. We arrived home late that night weary and worn but having enjoyed every moment!!

God’s Appointments!

God’s appointments

What an awesome journey we’ve had since leaving Justin & Nicole! Thank you so much for taking the time to pray for us. God has given us safety and allowed us to experience some unexpected visits. As an example, we were in North Carolina when we decided to take a couple of days and sight see. We ended up staying at a lodge where we met a couple from Canada and come to find out, we have friends in common! Each “appointment” has been just one more confirmation from God that we are exactly where He wants us to be.

One treat (of many!!) was being able to see Lance’s uncle and aunt who are 88 and 86. It has been great connecting with them again and other family members.

We are in Wisconsin and will be heading south to be with our son Robert and grandson Ean. We’ll be there for a couple of weeks before seeing more family and finally arriving back in Florida the second week of July.

Update

Thanks for praying for Elias. He and his family are heading to their home country of Germany this month for further treatment. Please pray for them as they adjust to this change and look to the Lord for their future!

Our co-workers, Ron & Michelle produced a DVD on the Higaunon New Testament. We have handed out many copies already and if you would like to receive one, please let us know.

Thanks for praying for us as we travel and thanks for praying for the Higaunon.

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura

Good-byes!

No one likes saying goodbye, especially to grandchildren who have done an unbelievable job of wrapping their grandparent’s hearts around their fingers! We praise God for the time He has graciously given us to be here with Justin & Nicole and their kids. Please pray for us as we say goodbye to them at the end of this week.

Who messed with the thermostat?

Thank you for praying

Okay, who messed with the thermostat? Isn’t Florida supposed to be warm? :) But then, anything below 70 degrees (f) is cold to us! We stopped off in Hawaii to visit good friends and it was even unseasonably cool there! All joking aside, we praise God for a safe trip and for exit row seats all the way! For those of you who may not realize, that means extra leg room and a more comfortable trip.

We are heading to the US

Thank you for praying for us and for the flight program we mentioned in our last email. Please continue to pray for that.

We are ready to leave on Friday morning for the first leg of our journey to the US for our “home assignment.”  (furlough)

We’ve had a few days here in Manila and have gotten all the things done we wanted to do. Thank you for praying for us over these past couple of weeks since we left the village! (more…)

And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Do you know Him?

From our home to yours we send you warmest greetings at this Christmas season. Our “Christmas gift” this year was answers to your many prayers for us and especially Laura’s health. Laura said this morning, “I feel GREAT!” The tests we had done showed a slightly compromised immune system. The doctor prescribed some heavy duty vitamins, an immune booster and strong pro-biotics. Praise God for answered prayer!

What a month!

Our team -

We have worked together for over 26 years!

These are gorgeous days here weather-wise.We are enjoying mid to upper 70′s (25-27 Celsius) with light breezes. We are enjoying these days while we have them knowing that the rains will be returning before long. There was some severe flooding recently that caused a lot of damage to a number of farms. People here and downriver said they had never seen a flood like this. A village downriver had some houses destroyed. Praise the Lord know one was hurt.

We feel as if we’ve been on an emotional roller coaster the past few weeks.  (more…)
