pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As this week is our American Thanksgiving holiday, our thoughts turn to all who partner with us in the ministry to the Higaunon people of the Philippines, as well as others we minister to. We are truly thankful for each one who prays for us and for those who also support the ministry financially. We could not do what we do without you!
First of all, thank you so much for praying for us over this past month. We have seen God at work in our lives and we are very thankful for all He is doing. Once again this passage comes to mind: 1Thessalonians 5:23-24 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” Read the rest of this entry »

News from the village:
In North America, people think of a zip line as something to do for fun. In the village, Ron has been working together with some of the men on a zip line that will help them cross the river when it is flooded. We have had different bridges in the past but all eventually washed away. Please pray that this will be a lasting blessing for the village.
Over the past several months, Bible teachers from our village have been hiking 5 hours to another village where people had asked that someone come and teach them. That village had heard from people in our village that they had the “message of life” and they wanted to know more! We reported about this in a previous blog entry. Click here to read that>>
Greetings in Jesus’ name!
We send our deepest “Thanks” to each of you who prayed for us during our four months in the Philippines and for our travel these past two months. We arrived safely back in Florida after 5,832 road miles. (that’s 9386 kilometers!)
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 2 Corinthians 2:14
Wherever we are in this world, we want to be a “fragrance” of the knowledge of Him! That is also our prayer for the Higaunon children pictured above.
Praise the Lord with us for a safe arrival in the US last Thursday. We are still getting over jet lag.
The last four months went by very quickly and we wonder where the time went! We want to say thank you to all who made the last 4 months possible by your praying and giving towards this ministry. As you know, we finished the final checking of Genesis and Exodus. Ron will be printing that and distributing it to the church in the near future. He has asked us to return again next year and help finish the checking of the Psalms and Joshua so, we are looking forward to that.
In previous updates we have asked that God would send Higaunon to go teach in villages that have expressed interest in listening to teaching of God’s Word. Here is a report on how God is starting to answer our prayers.
We thought we’d share with you some of the good things that are going on in the village while we have been working on Old Testament translation.
2 Timothy 2:2 “…the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.“
