About

Justin
I was born into a Christian family and was saved at a young age. However, I didn’t have a real fire/passionate relationship with Christ until my early 20’s. It was through working at a Christian Camp that I saw for the first time people my own age with a real drive for God and others. Through a several year mentorship with the new Pastor of my childhood church, a fire for Christ was lit in my life like I had never known previously. From these two instances, I was drawn to New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI where I learned and grew more in my relationship with HIM.
Little did I know where God would take me.
Shelbi
As a 3rd generation missionary kid, I was shown from an early age what it meant to have a relationship with Christ. At the same time, I was continually exposed to the reality that many around the world would have no opportunity for this relationship because they had no way of knowing about their Creator God and His plan for them in Jesus. Due to the many mission’s trips I went on with my parents, I saw first-hand what life in a tribe was like. At a young age, I decided that I too wanted to be a part of helping these people hear the Gospel. Throughout college and since, I have had the opportunity to work with and disciple youth. Out of those relationships the Lord has given me a real desire to challenge the next generation to get involved in what God is doing globally.

We found ourselves in the same class at New Tribes Bible Institute, as some of the few attending in our mid 20’s, and an instant friendship unfolded. During those two years of training, we walked with each other as friends through some of the toughest times in our lives. God had other plans for our friendship, and a year after graduating from the Bible Institute while Justin was working for the college on the maintenance team and Shelbi was working in children’s ministry at Elmbrook Church, the Lord opened our eyes to each other. We started dating and soon after, we were married. As we sought the Lord for where our passion for people and missions might take us, an opportunity presented itself to work with some new initiatives in NTM. This new initiative would allow us to do the thing we loved most, challenge people to walk with God and get involved with what He’s doing globally.
Our Ministry
So…how do you creatively challenge people to reach the unreached?
That is the question we ask everyday.
Simply put, times are changing
We are finding that more and more people are needing to eXpERieNcE missions first hand in order to catch the vision of their responsibility to play an active roll in God’s global plan.
So that is where we come in.
Not everyone is ready or financially able to go on an overseas mission’s trip. So, we have a unique opportunity to offer, for a fraction of the cost , a life-like TRiBaL MiSsioN’S eXPerIeNcE here in the U.S. to broaden people’s understanding of the necessity for and their role in reaching those who’ve never had the chance to hear the gospel.
What might this look like?
Starting Fall 2011, we will begin constructing tribal village settings where groups will get a chance to experience first-hand what tribal life is like. While in the tribe, they will be challenged to apply things they have learned in previous sessions about culture and language learning. These classroom sessions will also include teaching on the Biblical basis of missions, Bible translation, tribal evangelism, teamwork in missions, etc. Below you will find a short video called “Wayumi” about NTM’s east coast based program. Our ministry will be starting a Midwest based program similar to this.
But for now…
Although we are ready to jump in feet first to this task, we first must raise up a partnership team who will join us in our ministry through their prayers, encouragement, and finances. If you are interested in joining our partnership team or have any questions about what it entails, please feel free to get in touch with us through our contact page.
