Josh and Mel Simmons

connecting you to tribal missions

About

Josh&Mel-106Allow me to introduce you to my family.  I’m Josh, my wife Melody and our three daughters Sarah (6), Morgan (3), and Hannah (2).  We just recently moved from our long time home of Norfolk, VA to Papua New Guinea where we will fill the role of Tech Specialist in an effort to serve the missionaries in bush locations.

Now, about us,  I’m a Missouri native and chose to serve my country out of High School which took me ultimately to Norfolk.  My wife Melody is a native of Norfolk, however she studied at Bryan College after graduating High School and then worked for a ministry that focused on equipping youth pastors in Chattanooga, TN area.

We are currently  preparing for a ministry among the Tribes of Papua New Guinea with New Tribes Missions.  I will eventually be serving as a Tech Specialist and Melody will be the homemaker, teacher, and care giver for the girls and I, what a huge task, but she loves it.  We’ve just arrived to the field of Papua New Guinea, and one thing is for certain, its close to the equator where there’s lots of jungle, heat and most importantly, Tribal people.  People who live in spiritual darkness, without hope, without the Savior.  This is the ministry of New Tribes Mission, speeding the Gospel to the ends of the earth where tribal people live.  I as a Tech Specialist will have a first hand glance of what that may look like as I fly, boat or hike across the vast expanses of wild tropical jungle on missions to serve those faithful missionaries who are planting tribal churches and translating the Bible in the tribal languages.  Please pray for those who don’t know and those who are trying to show them!
