“Master, to whom shall we go? You have the You have the words of eternal life.”

(From John 6:68)

North Wahgis hear of God's Grace

Many unreached people all over the world have heard God’s words of eternal life for the first time in 2011 and many of them have believed! It’s been an exciting year for us in New Tribes Mission, as we see works that were started years ago beginning to bear much fruit. We have prayed for these groups and have kept up with the progress of the missionaries as they learned the language and culture of the people they hoped to share God’s Word with. While we rejoice with them, we are sure it can’t compare with the joy they feel after many invested years among these people they’ve grown to love.

Thank you for all of you who prayed for these people groups. The following are the names of the tribes who now have heard the Gospel in their own language. Please join us in continuing to pray for these new believers:

Siar, Bulongish, Akolet, North Wahgi and Mwinika.

The Akolet teaching begins

Can you imagine the excitement in the hearts of Adam and Julie Martin, Ryan and Sarah Warner, Ryan and Nikki Coleman, all NTBI alumni as they report the following from PNG:

Adam teaching the Akolet people.

“Adults and children gathered together under the shade of the large blue tarp as we prepared for the lesson to begin. Adam’s “podium” was an empty 55 gallon drum. The seating was planks or mats the people brought with them. The “sound system” was as loud as Adam could talk.

People seemed to listen attentively, and we praise God for each and every person who was there! Please pray with us:
-that people would continue to come faithfully
-that those who did not come for various reasons will decide that they do want to hear
-that the truths taught each day would stick in the people’s minds and keep them eager to hear more
-that distractions would be kept at bay that would otherwise keep people from attending
-that our team would have continued health and stamina to keep us with the pace of teaching along with our other responsibilities.”

What a privilege we have to know about and be a part of the work God is doing in the Akolet …by praying! May the Lord bring about a sense of excitement to your heart as we anticipate what He will do!

In His Love,

Death, Burial, & Resurrection Day

Posted by Josh and Mandi Brower on Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Here’s an update from Lisa, a NTBI Alumni, who works in a tribal group in Papua New Guinea–This is what it’s all about!

The day had finally arrived! It was finally time to present the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. I could hardly pray as we met this morning, getting choked up as I thought about a church being born here in Wabuku for the first time. [Read more]
