“Expand the REACH of the Gospel!”
From Josh:
There are roughly 6,500 languages in the world. God has commissioned His people to make disciples of every one of these people groups.  Seeing that over 2,200 of these language groups have absolutely no access to the Word of God, our hearts are burdened for these lost people.
Shannah & I have joined New Tribes Mission, as their purpose, core values & methodology most closely fit the vision & goals that God has laid on our hearts: namely, to reach every one of these people groups with the Word of God and to plant mature, indigenous churches among these people groups. Click on the following link for more information about New Tribes Mission.
The biggest roadblock to seeing this goal accomplished: “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few“ (Luke 10:2).  Reaching all of these people groups with God’s truth will take at least 8,800 committed and trained missionaries. At the rate the church is going today it will take over 300 years to accomplish this! We, the Church, (the people of God) cannot concede to this dilemma, seeing that “God is not willing that any should perish, but that all men should come to repentance.”
In light of this huge task, NTM is committed to assisting local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission. As an organization, they have begun to invest time, resources, and personnel to mobilize more laborers and to prepare these missionaries for service among the thousands of tribes who have yet to hear.
From Shannah:
NTM has formed a Mobilization Department at our Missions Training Center in Missouri. The purpose of Mobilization is to educate churches in America on the condition of the lost and the necessity for more people to give their lives for this task. NTM leadership asked Josh & I if we would join this department and take on specific roles to Expand the Reach of the Gospel through mobilization.
We will be serving 2 main functions in this department:
- Awana/NTM liaisons – New Tribes Mission and Awana Clubs International share the same founders and were birthed from the same vision. Today, a healthy organizational partnership is developing between NTM and Awana. Josh and I have been asked to be the connection people to build on this partnership.  Josh’s background is with Awana, as his family served as Awana Missionaries for over 12 years and he has many relationships within the realm of Awana. We are very excited that God is opening doors for us to work together with Awana to mobilize the next generation of young people to give their lives to REACH unreached people groups! This begins by making them aware of the great need, reminding them of Christ’s Commission, and by engaging them now in the process of reaching them.
- Mobilization program – The mobilization department is preparing to launch a program to cast God’s vision for the lost and let people know how they can be involved. They have asked Josh to take on the role of Program Director and me (Shannah) to take the role of Department administrator (see a glimpse of this by clicking HERE). We also have plans to take ‘Vision Teams’ on trips overseas to see the work that God is doing overseas and letting them see how they can be involved.
Josh and I are thrilled to accept this request and join NTM in Expanding the Reach of the Gospel more rapidly through this ministry. Josh and I have always had a heart to not just reach one tribe but all tribes. The only problem with that desire is that we are only 2 people and physically cannot reach them all with God’s word. We feel that God is fulfilling this desire through allowing us to be involved in this ministry so we can bring many more missionaries along with us when we do go to reach that one tribe!
