The Journey Back Begins…

HAPPY CANADA DAY & 4TH OF  JULY
Tomorrow morning we say good-bye to Canada for a few years and fly to Florida.  We have had such a great home assignment and we have so much to be thankful for!  The Lord has blessed us and our girls with friends and family on both sides of the world.  Our last few days in Three Hills were full of great memories and tearful good-byes.

LOOKING FORWARD
We are looking forward to spending the next 2 1/2 weeks in Florida with Larissa’s sister and connecting with friends and supporters in the Venice area.  On July 19th we head to Brisbane, Australia for a few days with Joe’s brother and family before we head back to PNG on the 25th.  Shania will start school just a few days after we arrive back.

A FEW PRAYER REQUESTS
1) Please pray for our family during these weeks of transition
2) Please pray for safe travels and that we will make all our flight connections. (we’ll have 6 of them)
3) We will be travelling with extra luggage so pray for understanding ticket counter attendants :)
4) Pray that we will keep our eyes on Jesus as we look forward to getting back to PNG and getting back into life and ministry there!

Our family has been so excited to see green grass again!  It sure was a long winter here in Alberta and the HOPE of Spring and warmer weather has finally turned into reality!   Our family has been talking about heaven a lot lately and that is where our ultimate HOPE is focused… the HOPE (which will turn into reality someday) of spending eternity in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour… the Creator of the heavens and earth!
We have been traveling a bit these last 6 weeks!  Went to BC for the girl’s Spring break, had a weekend in Red Deer and in Rapid View, Sask. We’ll be going to Saskatoon this weekend. We have been incredible blessed by all of you who we have seen and your expressed interest in what the Lord is doing in PNG.  We’d like to share a few prayer requests with you and than show you a few pictures of the last few months.

PLEASE PRAY :  1) For Joe & Shania’s Entry Permit Approvals to come
through SOON so that we can have them stamped
into their passports.  We started the process in March.
2) For our last few weeks here in Canada. We leave on
July 2 to fly to Florida.
3) For our girls and us as we say our good-byes for
another 3 years. (It never gets easier!)
4) That we will get everything done that we need
to do before we leave & keep our eyes on Jesus!

We spent a few days in Salmon Arm BC and visited these waterfalls while we were there!
We met Joe’s aunt & Uncle in Whistler, BC over Easter and the highlight of our time there was riding the “Peak to Peak” Gondola.
Kaci feeding an orphaned baby lamb. Our girls enjoyed experiencing “farm life” for a few days!  Thanks Kirsch family!
Kaci lives her dream of going horse back riding in Rapid View, Sask a few weekends ago!  Shania and Tegan each got to ride as well.
Shania went on a missions trip with a team of 8th & 9th graders from her school. What a great 2 days for her filled with lots of memories.
Tegan celebrated her 9th Birthday with all the girls in her class!

It’s Been a Good Year…..

We apologize for the lapse in communication from us.  We are all still alive and well, although our family has seemed to catch every flu and virus going around this winter.  We are looking forward to Spring and warmer weather! :)   The girls have really enjoyed their year in school here at PCA and we are thankful for the many good memories they have made.   Joseph has continued to work and we praise the Lord for the provision of this job that is enabling us to buy our tickets and other stuff to go back to Papua New Guinea.    Larissa has enjoyed being home and not having to many other responsibilities besides taking care of our family.  In that way it has truly been a year of rest for her.  She has also enjoyed being involved with a Mom’s Time Out Group at our home church and also attending a Ladies Bible Study on Wednesday nights.

We have made a few trips to visit friends, family and supporters, but were kept home a few times by winter storms! It is a blessing to us to be able to share the

amazing things that the Lord has and is doing in the Madang Region of Papua New Guinea with those who have supported and prayed for us these past 8 years.  We have a trip to British Columbia planned during the girl’s Spring Break and are looking forward to our time out there.

What’s Next?

We plan on making as many memories as we can during the next three months that we have left here in Canada.  We’ve also been working on our paperwork to go back to PNG.   One thing that we’d like to share with you is that we are trusting the Lord to raise our support level in the next few months.  Right now we have about 65% of our reccomended support level.  The Lord has always provided for our needs and we know that He will continue to do so.  He is Jehovah Jirah.  If you would like more information about how you can be a part of our minisrty in this way please let us know.
