My first bicycle ride to Pacitan, Spring 2007 with my Javanese friend Mas Asep. We left at 5:30 a.m. and arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon, joining Anna and the kids who took the van. Distance 105 miles.

I had bicycled to Pacitan twice before, this being my third trip. Tony is Anna's younger brother and does triathlons. We biked the 105 miles in 9 hours, 7 hr. 15 minutes in the saddle.

Pacitan is a 4 hour drive from Salatiga and is on the Indian Ocean. It's our favorite place to get away, not a touristy location.
