First Big Disappointment
This week ended with some hard news for us. We rounded a corner in our French study and thought we were close to the end, but really we are far from it. It was extremely discouraging and part of me wanted to give up. We took the weekend to calm down, process and rework our language plan. We pick up on Monday and are trying to muster the energy required to get us both over the last part of the climb. We are tired and weary of language study, but we press on toward the goal before us.

Little Andrea is so beautiful! You should feel very proud. That is a mark of how much of an impact you are already having. Praise God for the relationships you have already developed. And I am so glad Tyler enjoys school, what a huge blessing. I will continue to pray for you both as you continue your language study. Language is unending in one sense, so I am unsure how they judge when your language study is complete, but I will be praying for you nonetheless. I love you all and am so excited to see you soon!

Andi,
What a beautiful baby. She is so gorgeous!
God is always good even or maybe I should say especially when things get tough. I have already prayed for your language study, right now, and I will continue.
It is great that Ethan and Tyler can go to school together. It is a blessing for your whole family.
Prayers and Hugs,
Jeannette

Praying as you keep on keeping on.
We look forward to your blogs, such good pictures almost like being there.
We like seeing the little boys.
Experience His Grace as you continue language study and ministry.

Oh not so good. As we learned today at church, God gives us what we need to do the work he has planned for us to do. I will pray for that strength and encouragement as you take the next step to press on to the finish line.
Praise the Lord for brothers that love each. I know there are times that’s not so much but we celebrate the small things in life.

As a second language teacher, I see language set backs a lot. They are tough, and inspiring students through them is tough, too. I always tell my students that learning a new language is difficult, but possible. I also usually laugh and say that they are smarter than some of the people who have mastered this language, so there’s still a lot of hope. I’ll be praying for you guys as you trudge on through the language slump. It helps to know that God is fluent in all languages and can make a way for his children to learn them.

May God reveal His special plan for your GOOD through this tremendous disappointment! May you be encouraged by His constant faithfulness! Even when some things seem topsy-turvy and depressing, for the time being.

Andi,
So sweet that there is a sweet baby girl there with your name! Will be praying for you tonight (today) as you sleep and regain perspective for tomorrow morning. “Set backs” are hard, but pressing through them, that alone is a victory! Love you guys!
