Learning about Learning

What are Indonesian schools like? There are ceremonies, uniforms, lots of repetition, emphasizing respect and manners…..just to name a few things. My favorite part was the cultural respectful “kiss” on the hand goodbye from all the students when they leave at the end of the day. Since one day I hope to be helping with tribal people learn to read and write, I have been interested in learning more about Indonesian schools. This month I was able to spend a couple days with a friend who is a school teacher and go with her to her classes every day. While it was just a glimpse, I am hoping that it can be applied in future learning situations that I will be in.
