About
Currently we have finished our Itenerate status and have begun our home assignment. While Stateside Jim has completed the rough draft of the Dom New Testament. He went to PNG for 2 months and finished the first draft of the Dom NT. He has been working on the Back to English of the books on which comprehension checking was done and has worked on lessons for several books .
When we return to PNG in September 2010, Jim will continue to do the comprehension checking of the remaining books and get them ready for checking. Then begins the final stage to get the New Testament ready to print. What a glorious day that will be.
Judy helps with the content checks of the books as they are done, literacy, women’s Bible Study, teaching sewing, and medical.
Our History
Jim and Judy met during missionary training in 1979.  We married in 1980 and went to Papua New Guinea in January of 1982. Jim grew up in Southern California, but for Judy being an MK from Papua New Guinea, this was going back home. Rather than start a new work we joined one already in progress among the Dom speaking people of the Highlands.    There was a local church raised up already from the efforts of previous missionaries.  So after completing language and culture study in 1985 Jim began teaching and discipling the Dom Christians and gearing up for translation.  27 years later, we can look back and see the grace of God prevail despite many setbacks and trials. Our coworkers left one by one until we found ourselves alone in 2000.  We have been working on our own since, teaching the Word, discipling, teaching literacy, doing medical and translation of the New Testament. The Lord has blessed us with two local churches that though small in number, are hanging in there for the Lord.
OUR FAMILY
We have been blessed with four children; Ilai 27, Brian 25, Darren 23 and Heather 20. Ilai lives in Western New York with his daughter, Kelli.   Brain and his family are in Twin Falls, Idaho.   Darren, who graduated from San Diego Christian College in May, lives in El Cajon, CA and desires to go on to seminary in the fall of 2010. Heather graduated from NTBI, Waukesha, and is currently attending a local community college.  She is living with us this year here in El Cajon.
