About

"But I don’t like bugs and snakes!"  This may be one reason people hesitate to become a missionary in a foreign country.  But all missionaries do not live in a grass hut or eat strange foods.

We are part of a support team in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea.  We don’t live in a grass hut or eat too many strange foods.  But what we do is vitally important to those missionaries that are out in the remote areas with the bugs and snakes.

Jerry is a maintenance engineer with the aviation department.  Because the focus of New Tribes Mission is to reach isolated groups of people who have not heard the Gospel, the airplane is a key part of a missionary’s life.  It brings their supplies to them, allows them to get in and out of the tribe quickly and effortlessly, and is available for emergencies.  Jerry’s job is to keep the airplanes in excellent flying condition.

Another part of our ministry revolves around the school for missionary children, Numonohi Christian Academy.  Our children attend here and Renee teaches in the school.  It is thrilling to have an influence in the lives of these young MKs.  Many of them may become tomorrow’s missionaries.

So if snakes and grass huts aren’t your thing, you can still consider the possibilities of serving in a support role.  You might be surprised at all the options availalbe…..nurse, medical tehnician, auto mechanic, plumber, teacher, accountant, store manager, and dentist, just to name a few.  Follow this link to find out more:  www.ntm.org/png/careers.php
