access to God’s Word in Mozambique

Posted by:

We are back from Africa and thanking God for the month invested there. The first days were spent in South Africa, working with 4 missionaries from different countries in Africa who are being equipped to help their fields with literacy ministries. Then we traveled together to Mozambique where 3 missionary teams and people from their villages joined us to write literacy materials. One of these languages is a fairly new work, where decisions are being made for the first ...

We are back home from Bolivia remembering great times with new friends and all the fun with Ryan, Pam and the grandkids. Please keep Pam in your prayers as she recuperates from dengue fever. They return to the States on July 15, so these next weeks are full of packing, cleaning and good-byes.

Pam arranged a couple of trips for us ...

literacy training in Bolivia

Posted by:

Hello from Bolivia! We are about to begin the final week of the literacy course here at the   missionary training center. There are students from Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Peru and it is so exciting to think of the ministries that God is preparing for each of them. We have certainly come to love and appreciate the students and staff here who serve so completely.

This week the students will be teaching through a lesson in the primers that they have developed during the ...

keeping those suitcases free of dust…

Yep, it’s time to get out our suitcases again. We are preparing for an important trip to Bolivia. We leave the end of this month for Bolivia. One project we’ve been working on is to update the literacy training that missionary candidates receive and then to train the trainers. This trip to Bolivia is a part of that process. We are so excited to work with about ...

lovin’ the grandkids!

Posted by:

Trust you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did! Time with family and friends is so special! We are absolutely loving being grandparents!

We sent Reed and David (ages 3 and 2) one of those recordable books of the Christmas story. The other day they were listening to us “read” the story and Pam asked them who was talking. It was a page that Papa Jerry was reading and David reverently whispered, “God!”

Molly, age 4 has been asking when she ...

Our family actually increased by 2 this week! The adoption of Ryan & Pam’s little David (age 2 yrs) was also completed. David Bravery Parsons makes them a family of six!

He’s not old…he’s vintage!

Jerry is now a certifiable antique person. Yep, he has turned 50! The kids helped me pull off a surprise birthday party with about 60 friends and family members. Check out pictures of how bad we were to him on our photo page under the family album.

Everyone asks, “When’s your next trip?” We are glad to report that we actually have several months without travels! We’ve taken on some huge projects and are thankful for some time at our desks to ...

Reed and his “wickle waam”

what a crowd we are!We enjoyed several days all together as a family! The grandkids, especially Reed & Molly were inseparable. Reed calls Molly his “wickle waam” (translated “little lamb”).

But like always, the time went by too quickly and now we’re all back to our places. The noise is back down to a normal level, but we sure miss everyone!

Celebrating 29 years of marriage!

Posted by:

Yours foreverWho are those young kids?

Yep, it’s us, just a few decades back. Last weekend we celebrated another anniversary and honestly, it just keeps getting better! Who knew all the adventures and fun that God would have for us?

What one piece of advice would we give to younger couples?

Pray together every day…

If there is one thing you can do to improve your marriage, it would be to pray together. At first, it ...
