Reflecting on this past year

Posted by in Uncategorized on Jun 2nd, 2007 | Discuss This Post |   Share

As I look back on this year, it was such a great one! It wasn’t always easy but God taught me SO much! Two friends died suddenly and I really struggled with trusting God. I finally came to the realization that even if I don’t understand why God does something, I still need to trust HIm. He doesn’t do anything that is not for our good! He loves us way too much!

The training was very practical and hands-on! I learned SO much about what it takes to learn another language and culture,  how to teach people to read and write and lots of other things!

I also got to try lots of things for the first time! I’ve always wanted to fly a plane, water ski, and knee board and I got the opportuntiy to do all those things! I know those things aren’t that big a deal but it was like God was showing me how much He loved me. He didn’t have to let me do those things but He did!

There’s SO much more I could say about what God taught me this year but it would take way too long! I’m SO thankful for Christ and what He’s been doing in my life!

Me with two of my sisters and my aunt at graduation

I’m finished! It’s hard to believe that I’m done the training! Graduation was on Sat and was really neat! I enjoyed it! Larry Brown came from headquarters and spoke on finishing the job we start. It was really neat!

It’s exciting to think that by Jan or Sept, I’ll be on my field of service! Alot has to happen before then. French study is considered your first year on the field, so I have to have all my support raised before then. Please pray that it comes in soon so I can go in Jan. It’ll take a miracle, but I believe that if God wants me in Quebec in Jan, then it’ll happen. If not, I’ll wait till Sept.

Bible …

Right now, we’re in Bible Translation. Think about all the different versions of the Bible we have in English. Now we go into a different language and try to put the Bible in their language. I didn’t realize what a huge job it was! I nver thought I’d be a Bible translator but I learned that it’s a team effort. Yes, you do have someone who does most of it but everyone gives input and helps him out.

Spring is …

Spring is here! I’m SO glad for the warmer weather, birds chirping, green grass and flowers! It’s another reminder of the God we serve. He’s SO creative and loving! He didn’t have to make a beautiful earth for us but He chose to because He loves us!

With spring coming means I graduate soon! I’m excited and nervous! This training has been SO good and practical! Please pray for me as I finish up here. Pray that I’d keep focused on classes.

I’ll be traveling up to WI then to PA. Please pray for that too.
