To all our friends around the world.
Greetings once again from Papua New Guinea. We have been back on the field for some six months now and have re-settled back into life in the land of the unexpected.
Jeff is now the Human Resources and Employment Manager which means that he is learning a very great deal about the PNG Labour Laws, rules and regulations for employing our citizen workers; hopefully he will be taking a Correspondence course in Human Resources over the next year from a college in the UK. He also oversees the citizen staff in the office whilst managing the maintenance of the building and equipment in the office.
Mary continues to teach the boys at home, she still likes to do her quilting/ hand sewing if time permits. Kevin will be 13 this year and continues to enjoy his computer and some games; he is also taking a course in using the different word processing and spreadsheet programmes that we use. David will turn 11 this month and he is definitely into seeing how things work, how to fix things, etc., just at the moment, he’s trying to devise a way to fix a trailer to his bike!! Both of them delight in their music, math, P.E. have fun with friends and like to be out on their bikes if the weather is favourable. Last term at school they were involved in the soccer programme. This term they will be learning Basketball, which Kevin is really looking forward to.
From throughout PNG we receive continued reports of God’s Word changing people as the gospel is presented and understood, translations being completed, the Word of God getting into the hands of our tribal brothers and sisters, with many of them taking a stand against the old ways, learning to rely upon God for His strength as they go through trials just as we do.
We received this message from one of our missionaries in a tribe in the Highlands, “A new opportunity presented itself to share the Gospel when Joe, a man who lives nearby, years ago, helped us to learn Pidgin, expressed a sudden interest in hearing the chronological teaching! It can be a bit scary when someone shows up and says, “I helped you learn Pidgin, now I want you to do something for me!” Payback is a big part of PNG culture so we were glad to know that the payback he was interested in was simply to hear God’s Word in his mother tongue!”
A prayer request from a tribal brother “We need to understand the Bible better – sometimes we have thoughts and we don’t know if they are from God, or just our own thinking. And we need a practical theology – we need to grow in teaching our own families. We could do with claiming this prayer request for ourselves as well.

The Memorial Service for Peter and Two of our other Missionary brothers who are now in heaven…
It was a very difficult time but also one of encouragement to us, from our fellow missionaries and to learn of the blessing Peter was to them. We were pleased that a good number of our citizen friends came to the Service, including all of the office staff. Many expressed their care and concern for us and also shared much about Peter and his testimony whilst he was here in PNG.

We would like to let you all know that our home phone number has changed to (675) 531-4497. Jeff’s Digicel mobile phone number is (675) 7122-4575.
Prayer Pointers/Requests
We are experiencing too much rain so the peoples’ gardens now won’t produce their food crops. Some of our important household equipment and furniture require immediate replacement. Wisdom and finances for schooling Kevin and David as well as for Jeff’s Correspondence Course 2010-11.
We are so thankful for each of you and the part you play in our lives and ministry here in Papua New Guinea; and Praise God that He has helped us all in so very many ways we’d never even thought of since our return and we pray that He will continue to provide for our future needs.

IDN_Moi__082[1]Can you really teach an old dog new tricks?, I guess I’ll find out soon as I learn to use this new website!.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here in the Highlands of PNG, an awesome sight seeing the surrounding mountains in all their glory showing us the majesty of God’s creation.
