Training Missionary Pilots

About

Jason works as a flight instructor at Moody Aviation training the students of the senior class in Complex and High Performance airplanes in preparation for their Commercial Pilot Certificate.

Moody uses the Cessna 185, 206, and 182RG, as well as the 172 for private and instrument training.  In these airplanes the students learn to fly airplanes with retractable landing gear, tail wheel, and high-performance engines.  The 185 and 206 are used on the field by many missions.  Jason is happy to be able to pass on the skills God allowed him to gain in the Philippines to his students, especially in the 185.

The Spokane Turbine Center is located at the same airport and is preparing to train Moody Graduates and pilots already serving with missions in the Kodiak.  It’s great to see how God is putting the next generation of aircraft together with the next generation of pilots.

More important than the airplanes is the importance of preparing the students to safely and reliably serve their fellow missionaries on the field.  Sharing our story with them is an opportunity to show God’s faithfulness when life doesn’t follow our plans.  He leads us to place after place where we are able to see his love and care for us and have the chance to impact the world through relationships with people.
