I am truly blessed. I get to work with some of the best co-workers in the world. And we get to join God in some pretty exciting work. Not only are we part of the team that is planting churches in unreached people groups around the world, but we have the privliage of telling people the exciting stories of what God is doing.

And we have all heard the expression, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” So why not use Instragram to share what God is doing? Check out NTM’s Instragram page: http://instagram.com/newtribes

Do you love social media? Do you know someone who does, and also loves the Lord and partnering with Him? I am looking for more people interested in joining the team. Please email me if you know someone who might be interested!

“What in the world is God doing?” Have you ever asked yourself this?

Last fall I had the privilege of taking a class one night a week in Cambridge that answered this very question. The Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course was fanastic. So much so I want to see it taught in Grey County.

So together with some outstanding teammates, I am hoping to see this become a reality. We are tentatively planning on it running February-May, 2014.

Have you taken this course before? If so, please share your impressions in the comments below. If not, I highly recommend you do.

You can learn more on these websites: http://www.perspectivescanada.org/ and http://www.perspectives.org/site/pp.aspx?c=eqLLI0OFKrF&b=2806295

Thank you for praying for Norm and I last Friday as we shared in the chapel time of the Missionary Training Centre last week. We have a followup session scheduled for this morning.

Thanks for praying for the NTM@work workbee last Saturday. We finished in record time. And I had great weather on Monday as I drove to the mailing house in Kitchener.

Yesterday I met with a couple in their retirement years, considering volunteering at the NTM Canada home office in Durham. Thank you for praying. I was very encouraged, and look forward to how the Lord directs.

Thank you for praying for my decision about going to Florida on Monday or not. I have told my coworkers in FL that I won’t be coming down.

Looking forward

Please pray for the Pastors from Saskatchewan who are visiting Durham today. They are on their way home from visiting Wayumi in Pennsylvania.

Please be praying for those filling out applications for the Missionary Training Centre for next August. We are asking the Lord for 25 new students!

Please pray for Angie and I as we help plan this year’s Staff Retreat for NTM Canada. Our next planning meeting is tonight.

Please pray for me next Monday as I meet with some others to brainstorm ways to promote Off The Grid better.

Please be praying for those meeting in Sanford at the NTM USA home office next week without me. I know it will be tough

This morning Norm and I will be sharing with the missionaries in training about using MailChimp.com and other tools for building relationships with those praying for us and supporting us financially. Please pray that we teach well.

Tomorrow Angie will be turning 31 years old. She needs your prayers

On Saturday, there is a church group coming to New Tribes Mission to help stuff all 3,300 NTM@work magazines that we are mailing across Canada. Please pray for great conversations.

On Monday, a co-worker will be travelling back to Nova Scotia from Benin, West Africa. Please pray for their safety, and that God would use them to touch someone’s life enroute.

On Monday, I will be taking the NTM@work to the mailing house in Kitchener. Please pray for decent weather.

On Wednesday, someone who is enjoying their retirement years, but also considering volunteering on our team, is coming to Durham to meet us. Please pray that we hit it off and they find their place with us.

Please be praying for those filling out applications for the Missionary Training Centre for next August. We are asking the Lord for 25 new students!

Regarding my potential trip to Florida in February, please pray that I walk in obedience to the Lord, and not in my own understanding. I want to walk by faith, and not by sight.

Please continue to pray for Angie and I as we help plan this year’s Staff Retreat for NTM Canada.

Have you been able to stay healthy this winter so far? I was doing pretty good, till returning from Florida. Yesterday I finally gave into the cold I have and went home early to get some rest.

Looking back

This week I had the privilege of sitting in on some of the orientation for those joining NTM Canada. I have been challenged by Pete Humphreys teaching on ‘leadership’. Please pray that I don’t dismiss the truths I find most challenging. I am very task orientated, and Pete is very people-centric, which means our default view of ‘leadership’ is from two different angles.

On Wednesday we had a family over for lunch that are planning on joining the Home Office staff of NTM Canada. Please pray for them as they search for a home to purchase.

On Tuesday I had lunch with Pete and Carly Nichols. Please pray for them as they work on preparing for this summer’s Off The Grid program.

Looking forward

Please pray for me as I now have the cold our girls had last week.

Starting tonight, some co-workers of mine are representing NTM Canada atMission Fest Vancouver. Please pray that they connect well with people interested in giving their lives for reaching tribes and transforming lives.

Please continue to pray for Amelia as she works on her application to volunteer with NTM Canada.

Please be praying for those applying to the Missionary Training Centre for next August. We are asking the Lord for 25 new students!

I wrote earlier that I will be going to Florida in February. Please continue to pray that I have a clear sense of the Lord’s leading in the decision of whether or not to go.

Please pray for me as I seek to grow in the area of ‘servant leadership’ in 2013.

Please pray for Angie and I as we help plan this year’s Staff Retreat for NTM Canada.

Thanks for praying! You are a vital part of our tribal church planting team!

Praise the Lord, Myelle is making a good transition from a crib to a toddler bed. She will be 2 years old March 30th.

Thank you for praying for Angie and I as we travelled to Florida earlier this month. As I wrote last week, the Lord knew we needed to be there to help my grandparents move. And we did get some great time of rest and refreshing in as well.

I had a safe trip to my GI specialist in Toronto this morning. All is good. My next appointment will be in a year, if I stay healthy. If you want more details, I would love to hear from you!

Looking forward

Please pray for Amelia. She is from Brampton, and visited the Home Office of NTM Canada today. She is interested in volunteering, possibly with me.

Please be praying for those applying to the Missionary Training Centre for next August. We are asking the Lord for 25 new students!

I wrote earlier that I will be going to Florida in February. Please continue to pray that I have a clear sense of the Lord’s leading in the decision of whether or not to go.

How can we be praying for you?

Did you know that NTM Canada now has a French Website?

This project has been a long time in the works. Last winter I had an intern who was French Canadian. Elisabeth (and her husband) worked hard on translating our English site into their mother-tongue. Then God provided a web developer to help, who it just so happens, speaks French as well. Norm and his family served in Guinea and Senegal for a couple of years before joining me in Durham.

Our new website also features a number of our newer videos with French subtitles!

Please pray that this website will be used by God to show French speakers the need for Christ that exists in remote villages around the world!

Check out francais.ntm.org

This was our second time going. We had a blast!

The girls (and Jason) all got to ride in a little atv-drawn train. And we all went on a horse drawn wagon. We saw geese, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens. Even alpacas.

And we got to hold baby rabbits.

But the best part was likely getting our photos with… nope, not Santa Claus (that line up was too long) … but with Vixon.

God loves people from all cultures, and desires to see them all ‘singing His praises.’ God has given the Church the greatest commission ever — “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

John 4:35 reads, “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”

Jesus says again, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” in Luke 10:2

The labourers are few. Part of the reason is that beleivers today don’t always know what work there is left to do. So a couple weeks back I joined Peter Yoon and Norm Copeland and others in Toronto to share about the work God is doing through New Tribes Mission.
