Jason, Delena, and Angie

How was your summer? Did you get to travel at all?

We sure did. We have some picture of it in the “photos” section of our new website.

But now we are back into school. This is our fourth week already. We have been learning about Phonetics and the IPA and APA alphabets. (If you really want to know what IPA and APA stand for, email us…)

So you want to know about our exciting news?

We are not expecting another baby. The excit
ing news is that we have decided not to go to Indonesia. Or more accurately, we have decided to stay in Canada as missionaries. This past spring, the leadership of New Tribes of Canada asked us to consider joining the home-staff here in Durham. We still have to finish our training (graduation is in May). Then we will be helping plant tribal churches by helping the more than 250 Canadian missionaries planting churches in 18 countries around the world.

Jason will be working in the business/accounting department, blessing all those missionaries by helping with their finances. There is a good chance that Angie will be teaching in the Academy for all the children of the staff and students here at New Tribes Mission outside of Durham.

Many have already asked a couple of questions:
1) So is Jason’s a paid position?
No. Just like all the other missionaries with New Tribes Mission, we are going to be trusting the Lord to provide for all our financial needs.

2) Are we still planning on going to Indonesia in a couple of years?
We are planning on being in Canada as long as the Lord directs us to be in Canada. We are prepared to stay here till we retire. We have accepted this ministry knowing that the Mission would like us to stay here permanently.

Please Pray:

  • for us as we complete the last year of our training
    • a sustainable pace
    • the right motivation
  • for us as we minister September 21-23 at a large Jr. High Youth Retreat called “JR Pitch” in Stayner, Ontario

Praise God:

Love and prayers,
—Jason, Angie and Delena
