Honda Civic = Over the Hill
Our little car is over 200,000 miles
Our car is officially over the hill!
While on our way back from New Jersey doing a missions conference, we came to realize that our car had reached a milestone. Life has been in the fast lane (how ironic considering the picture) the last 2 months. This Sunday we go to a church in Hart, MI, and this will be the 7th church the last 8 weeks.

Sad News but we continue to Lean on Our God:
We are not able to go to Indonesia in April. We had our visa’s all in place and we were ready to order tickets but had a few set backs. Honestly, it was hard not to question God’s motives, but the Holy Spirit was quick to help us understand that His ways are better and He is Sovereign.
We are praying and hoping that God will allow us to go in November as our finances and placement in language school all settle in. If not then, we will have to wait until April of 2011.

Merry Christmas

As this year comes to a close we cannot help but look back and see how we have been incredibly blessed. Blessed with Christ’s love and the relationship we share with him. Blessed with a healthy family, and be surrounded by individuals who love and support us. This year has been filled with ups and downs but through it all God has been good to us. We cannot thank each of you enough for your encouragement.
We were in new territory this January as we embarked on our exciting journey of raising support! It has been a growing experience for our family as we learned to be flexible crammed in our little Honda Civic traveling thousands of miles across the country with a newborn! We traveled from one church to another staying with individuals who were kind enough to open their homes to complete strangers. Many relationships were built and we walked away making lifelong friends. Thank you for all your kind words, prayers, and encouragement. You have blessed us more than you could possibly know!
In the midst of raising support we were able to take time out to spend with family. In June we went to Crystal Lake for one week with Jared’s family. Then we stayed in Ocean City, NJ with Mel’s family in July. Lots of memories were created and a great time for us to spend with our families before we leave for Indonesia.
November was a big month for our family as our son celebrated his 1st Birthday! Being parents to Israel has been the greatest adventure; he seems to discover something new every day! He is walking, talking, and always teaching us patience. We think he will love tribal food, as we have caught him more than once with a fly or ladybug in his mouth!
We take nothing for granted as we realize that next Christmas we will be in Indonesia, without our family or the comforts of home. We will be spending Christmas with Mel’s family in Lansing, and New Years with Jared’s family in Grand Rapids. We hope to spend time with some of you before we leave the states in April. We are truly blessed to have known you in one way or another and for the impact you have had on our lives. We hope you have a Merry Christmas surrounded by your loved ones.
Israel’s 1st Birthday
How do you show your son a little bit of our culture? Take him to McDonald’s! He got his first hamburger, french fries, and play place. What is left to show him, right? Not done yet, he experienced his first Hot ‘n Ready from Little Caesar’s. Are we done yet? Nope. Well, we decided to give him his first sugar rush, a cake.
Overall is first big day was a good one and we worked off all the calories by going to an indoor play place in the mall. We teach him to eat hearty, and then work off the fat!!
Thanks for all the gifts and cards!
