Celebrate Easter!

Posted by Ian and Julie Fallis on Thursday, April 5th, 2012

When Jesus went to the Cross, did He do it for you? Was His blood spilled for your sins? Did He rise in victory over sin and death for you?

Count on it!

But … was it just for you? Or does God’s Word tell us this is Good News for all people everywhere?

This Easter I encourage you to lift up your voice and your heart and your face and worship and glorify our Lord and Savior.

However, please don’t stop there. I encourage you to ask God what you can do to glorify His name among the nations, to help take the Good News to those who have yet to hear it. And then do what He tells you to.

So here’s a little inspiration: Paiye of the Moi tribe sharing the Easter story in his own language. What’s amazing about this is that only a year or two before this video was made, neither Paiye nor any of his people had heard a bit of this.

Awayo is just a beginning

Posted by Ian and Julie Fallis on Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Do you like stories?

Do you like changing lives?

Do you want more?

The stories you help Julie and I tell change lives.

Many of you prayed and gave when I went to Indonesia to make a short film. And when I came down with malaria afterward. And through the long process of pulling the film together.

You should read what one young woman wrote about that film on Sunday:

Awayo's road to faith is inspiring people

Awayo's road to faith is inspiring people

this week, i also realized that my heart is for the tribal people. we watched a video made by new tribes called “Awayo” (look it up and watch it if you haven’t seen it, it’s really good) and even though i had seen it about twelve times already, toward the end when the main guy talked about the other tribes who have not heard, i knew God was asking me “Who shall go, who will I send to tell others about me?” i knew that there are people dying today who haven’t heard God’s precious Holy word and i knew that it was my job to tell them.

Tribal believers say …

Would you like to be able to see and hear tribal believers tell you how faith in Christ has changed their lives?

You can.

In fact, you can have almost the same vantage point I had when I went to Indonesia, as you listen to Dagamee, Ediapiya, Iyodotabo and Paiye.

Brief videos of their testimonies (the longest is less than 2 minutes) are part of the online edition of February’s NTM@work magazine >>

You should feel good about that, by the way.

You see, I can – and should – feel good about sharing this with you, because I know these videos and the stories will bless your life. And because of your involvement in our ministry, you can – and should – also feel good because you are blessing others.

Thanks!

11 years of thanks

Thank you!

January 1, 2010 will mark the beginning of our 12th year in ministry at the NTM USA home office. Your prayers and giving have brought us this far, and we appreciate being able to count on you in the future.

I don’t need to ask where the last 11 years went. I know. The last 11 years have been invested in the lives of men and women who are helping plant churches among the world’s unreached people. You have helped greatly expand the reach of the Gospel. Tribal men, women and children are not only on their way to Heaven because of what you’ve done – they’re also leading others to Jesus. Thank you!

Mois learning to teach

Steve and Rich, and Indonesian missionary Andy Panambunan, with Moi friends.

Have you ever wondered what’s going on with Awayo and his people these days?

Well, we just heard from missionary Rich Brown, who works among the Mois, that Moi believers are excited about learning to teach God’s Word.

“The eight students in the discipleship class have been very keen on growing and excited to teach the Mois themselves,” Rich wrote. “We need to get these young men up to speed on how to handle the chronological Bible teaching lessons. It’s actually been quite an undertaking to get them from being able to barely read to handling God’s Word with authority.”

Rich and his wife Karen along with missionaries Steve and Carolyn Crockett are translating, teaching the Bible and (more…)

Awayo

Awayo

No one said a word for a full five minutes.

In a room full of 700 college students, there were always people talking, oblivious to what was going on in the Reality Conference. But not after AWAYO was shown.

After one of the first public showings of the film you helped make possible, you could have heard a pin drop. Pity the guy who had to speak after that. All he could say was, “Wow!”

Bob Walz, a Navigator who showed the film and shared the story of what happened, is praying that God will use the film to tear down the wall of indifference between young American Christians and the world’s need for the Gospel.

“Who knows what happened?” he wrote. “Only God.”

Will you pray with Bob and I?

Your prayers and gifts helped Ian be part of the team that filmed AWAYO. Ian also co-wrote the final script. Next fall we expect to make another film about a life that God has changed, and you can help make that possible by giving toward what we believe is the minimal equipment we need for the trip. AWAYO: Fear to Faith

Posted by Ian and Julie Fallis on Monday, October 5th, 2009

The Moi video — the short film that Ian went to Indonesia to help shoot — has been pre-released online.

Ian’s been doing a lot of work behind the scenes on the website rollout, and still has a lot to do.

But we’re already been getting a ton of good comments, and we’re expecting that God will greatly use this powerful film.

Wayumi video online

Posted by Ian and Julie Fallis on Thursday, August 20th, 2009

The new Wayumi video is online, in a new website for NTM’s Wayumi program.

Take a look >>

I started on the script for this video while in Indonesia making the short film Awayo, which is set to be completed this month and released on DVD in September, with extras such as interviews with Moi believers.

It’s neat to see the Wayumi video complete. Let us know if you like it.

Videos moving along

Posted by Ian and Julie Fallis on Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

The Moi film is almost complete. The editing and effects should be complete at any time — perhaps today — and then we’re going to have an English voice-over recorded.

The promotional video for NTM’s Wayumi program is almost complete as well.

Pray that each of these projects will soon be completed, and pray for wisdom about what comes next.

Stories set on stun

Missionary Carolyn Crockett holds the Moi baby

You may be stunned by a recent news story.

A Moi man — a believer — tried to kill his infant daughter. He decided she was a result of his wife\’s adultery, even though there\’s no evidence his wife committed adultery. And in the Mois\’ traditional ways, that makes it OK to kill the girl.

You may be stunned. Perhaps you\’re thinking, “How could a believer do that?”

I wasn\’t stunned by that. And not just because I\’ve been to that Moi village and met that man. You really shouldn\’t be stunned either.

All around us, people who profess the name of Christ do things that Scripture says are wrong, simply because our culture says they\’re OK. Yeah, those other people (more…)
