About

Thank you so much for visiting our blog. We are currently involved in translating God’s Word into the language of the Manjui people. We have been ministering to these people now for over 32 years, and have been doing Bible translation since 1989. This continues to be a very rewarding work. God has given us the privilege serving in this capacity as His workers in the great harvest. Eventually we hope to see the whole New Testament, as well as much of the Old in the language of these people. That is our goal.
At this time there is a small group of believers among the Manjui who worship the Lord together at least twice a week. They read to each other from the Scriptures that are finished at this time, and they continue to teach each other from what they read. It is very exciting to see how they are growing as believers.
For many generations before the mission began working among these people, their whole existence was occupied with roaming the harsh environment of the semi-arid sticker jungle looking for food and game. They were semi-nomadic in lifestyle and spirit, but that wasn’t their own choice. They were forced to move on to another location whenever the jungle food and game became scarce in one place or their waterholes went dry. Because of that, they were also extremely poor and ragged, wearing only the clothes that they made for themselves of cactus fibers. Everything they owned they could fit in carrying bags made from the same cactus fibers. Their biggest questions were always, “Will there be enough water and food for us today?” and, “Will one of us fall prey today to the demons roaming around in this jungle? Will one of those demons cause us to get sick and die? They were petrified of the dark and of the evil spirits whom they felt were all around them.
Now, because the truth of God’s Word entering their world in their own language, there is hope and a Light shining in the darkness. Daily the Manjui are becoming more and more acquainted with this Light. Pray for them as they grow and mature, and for us as we continue to work through the translation process.
